How to stop sleeping on my stomach?

I'm a very strange sleeper with all sort of weird things going on - kicking like a horse, teeth grinding, sleeping with my arms folded, regular 360 deg turns.., to name a few.

But my main problem is that I'm a stomach sleeper and it's causing me a lot of back pain. I do suffer with lower back pain anyway but every night it's causing me to wake up numerous times and I know it's related to the way I sleep.

Because I turn so much the pain when I start to move is so bad it wakes me and it's a real struggle to move myself and ease the pain. And it takes me what feels like an age to get myself out of the bed in the morning - it's as if my back has just seized up.

Anyway to get to the point! I know I need to retrain myself to sleep on my back or side. I'm wondering does anyone have any tips on how I might do it?

    Thanks!

    hi very easy:

it is true that sleeping in whatever position is due to habit, but the good thing is any habit can be changed with another habit (takes about 40 days of doing the new way to make it a habit)

In order to sleep on your side you can get a side sleeper pillow which will FORCE your body to stay on the side.

The pictures below are of the Side Sleeper Pro pillow sold on Amazon and you can also read my Side Sleeper Pro REVIEW

notice how well it also aligns the head, neck and spine

there are many other pillows, not just this one which are designed for side sleepers
