Weight Watchers: Old points or new?

I started weight watchers again two months ago, I say "again" because I joined a few years ago and did really well and kept the weight off until I had our baby in June.

I don't really like the new points system, I'm finding it hard to shift any decent weight. At first I thought it was because of my body having changed after the baby and the fact I didn't really understand the new system as I was so used to the old one, but the sucess rate in my class doesn't seem to be great.

Any fellow weight watchers find the old system better than the new?

    Thanks

I do. I have a lot more points-I know if I translate the points I'm still allowed the same amount of food but it helps mentally.

I also find the free fruit and the extra 49 points a week a great help. I only went back in August and I've lost 1 stone 12 pounds so far.
The new system is like any other weight loss system it only works if you apply it. If there's anything you don't understand ask your leader to explain it- it's their job. Or ask another member or on the weightwatchers thread here.

If the success rate at your meeting isn't great then change meetings if you can.

    hang in there :)

When the change came out in Jan, I struggled to adjust. I plateaued for months and my leader was stuck as for reasons why because I was doing loads of exercise. So I blamed it on the propoints and I switched back to the old points. That didn't work either. I'm now back on propoints and its working. There are a few reasons why its working now. I'm sticking to the plan properly. I'm pointing and tracking everything. I'm pointing multiples properly i.e one slice of bread is 1pps but 2 is 3pps. I'm not abusing my weeklies and I'm doing my exercise. The weight has started to go down again.

Maybe look at what you're doing and be completely honest with yourself. If you go to your meetings, ask your leader for advice and to look at your tracker. If you're doing everything right and its still not working then maybe stick to what has worked for you in the pass. There's nothing saying you can't follow the old plan. Good luck with the weight loss and congrats on the baby!!

Same here - I joined last November and lost a stone before the new year and was stuck for ages blaming ProPoints. Was very disillusioned but my leader encouraged me to stick with it as she was seeing success with her classes especially with people who joined in January. Also a colleague who goes to meetings with me could see (from behind :p) that I was shrinking even though it was not showing on the scales.
Had a good think and realised that last November and December I was walking more due to the snow - now walk for 1.5 hours every day instead of 30 minutes. Cut out yoghurt and milk out of curiosity to see if it would make a difference, stomach feels much better and lost another 1.5 stone.
You need to be completely honest with yourself - easier said than done I know. Also with exercise maybe to need to change something - walk that bit faster.... hang in there!!
