Sorry if this been discussed already but I'm just on my phone now and haven't gone through all the other discussions. Thanks in advance

I'm having the same problem since updating to iOS 5. Weather app and widget won't update. However if you connect to Wifi then the App/Widget will update. It's just when using your iPhone's data that it won't update. Tried a restore but it didn't fix the problem. I'm on Meteor btw.

I'm also on meteor. I know it's only a minor thing but I used the weather app a bit and especially now since it meant to be one of the great updates. Least I know it's not just me. Wonder if it's just a meteor problem

You might have something there. I removed the stocks widget too and only noticed this bug afterwards. I'm on eMobile too.
I also have the dodgy mms issue too.

Just added stocks widget back and it's no different. Rebooted too. Is anyone else jail broken ?

I'd say it will be addressed in one of the iOS updates. I'm not too bothered. Unless it isn't fixed after the next update.

Sounds like Meteor don't see the server it pulls the info from TBH, shouldn't take an update to the OS to fix if it is working on most other operators.

Meteor should resolve the issue in a day or two on their side. If it is Apple then they implemented the widget oddly.

Have the same problem on iPhone 4s with iOS 5 and Meteor carrier settings version 11.0, which I installed yesterday when I starting using the phone for the first time. Weather app will only update over wifi.

It's also a problem for eMobile users who use Meteor's network, which suggests the problem may be with Meteor. Have verified this in an eMobile store using the iPhone 4S phones on display.

Could I ask anyone who has posted here and has experienced the same problem
(weather app won't update over mobile data on Meteor and eMobile but will update over wifi) to post details of the carrier settings version they have installed? This should allow us to determine if the installed carrier settings are at fault and which version is responsible for breaking the app.

This can be viewed as follows:
Settings->General->About and scrolling down to the Carrier section (mine says Meteor 11.0).

Meteror 11.0 but surely everyone is on this carrier setting as this is the carrier setting that's being used since ios5 launched? I know one or two might not have updated their carrier setting but don't imagine we will fine those people here.

Is it possible to install an earlier version of the carrier file? I've located version 10.1 elsewhere.

no i dont think so unless you're jailbroken, i wasn't asked to accept a carrier file when i updated to ios5

They probably haven't been optimized for iOS 5 yet. I have this problem with Asphalt 6 on my iPad 2.

Still no update from Meteor on when this will be resolved. Bloody useless!

Since updating I find a lot of tasks do not complete the first time. iMessages, Tweets...they fail and I have to send them again.

Same. Finding the 3G data very flaky recently. Websites, app store, iTunes, Safari can take multiple attempts to complete something.

Same problem when tethering via Personal Hotspot. Page timeouts and disconnections.

    Getting quite annoying...

"Snap" I just posted about this on another thread. Before I seen this. I just moved to Meteor from 02. I was using a 3gs.

Sent them an e-mail about it there, will wait and see what they say! Probably would help if anyone else seeing the issues e-mailed in aswell, they'd be more likely to take it seriously then.

*snigger* You expect an answer from them in a few hours?! :p A few weeks and you might have a hope...

Their customer care is woeful...really woeful. You cannot get through. The only way is via Twitter and the only reason you'll get a response is because it's public and they have to be seen to respond.

I got the 4S and there are big issues with this phone. Dropped connections to the network, even when showing 4 bars or more, calls can't get through or texts sent. It will drop, then start searching and hook up. Then after a while drop again. This is not a meteor issue though, it seems to be affecting users around the world. Yet another antenna/baseband issue. Some users have said that by changing to the 128k micro sim card, this fixes the issue. The Meteor guy in the store I talked to a few days ago was gormless and didn't have a clue what I was talking about. Started to BS me about the issue being the phone hooking up to 3G and dropping it and update the iOS etc....

Even with the iOS update the battery life is still disappointing, And that's with iCloud off, location services off, even mobile data off. But whats the point in having a smart phone like this if you have to turn everything off?

Watch out for suspicious looking text messages on your bill sent to a UK number and for which you will be charged. Apparently, this is a text message Apple sends silently to activate Facetime! Every time you mess around or do a reset this silent text is sent! Ridiculous.

Meteor and Apple have not been a great combo here at all!

You will need to contact apple and organise getting a replacement handset, I had all the very same issues, got on to apple and they sent me out a replacement, and thankfully haven't had a single issue since. I'm on eMobile by the way.

Did you buy the phone directly from Apple though?
