My 18yr daughter hand her i phone ripped from her hand on aston qy at 6pm this evening...............

I texted it within 10min offering 100euro for it, no questions asked, meet anywhere (hammer up my sleeve) no joy, rang it and the stupid cnut must have thought he was rejecting the call but instead answered it.
I could hear this junkie basturd asking some scumbag how much he would give him for it.

I really just want to get down in print that I hope this low life filth dies screaming, and never never again will I look at a junkie and think.......ah god love him.

    rant over,
p.s my daughter was shaking but unhurt, so very lucky I guess.

    It's only a phone.

Hardly warrants wishing death on a person.

Seriously - you need to calm down & get some perspective.

It's late at night so they won't have had a chance to give it into the dodgy shops to wipe it.

Presuming you have "find my iphone" you should track it down easy (with garda assistance).

What need exactly would an 18 year old girl have for such an expensive phone? If she had a basic, entry level nokia she'd probably still have it tonight!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 773 ✭✭✭Wetai

Use Find my iPhone to find it - with it being free now, it's stupid not to have it. Also report it, the guards might happen to be useful.

    Backtrace it.

Consequences will never be the same.

    They done goof'd.

All mobile phones can be tracked, down to 20 meters or something. I seen it on an american show about missing people.

Correct, murderer Joe O' Reilly was caught out this way.

Because Saoirse, Sophie & Chloe have one.

And now Tommo has one too.

In fairness you wouldn't be saying that if it was your daughter was stolen!

Can ya justify Gardai time tracing some 18 years overly priced unnecessary toy at 11pm at night in dublin ?

The junkie wont be done, the phone is probably insured. If you can afford an iPhone you can afford to lose an iphone as my old nanna used to say.

Well a daughter being stolen is very different to a daughter's phone being stolen...

True. It's cheaper to replace a daughter.

Aww sorry to hear that, awful feeling when something like that happens!

In fairness, she's 18. She could have worked and bought it herself.

The quays and apparently Talbot St are notorious for people getting mugged for their iphones or having them grabbed out of their hands.

Did anyone give a sh*t about stolen phones before i-phones came along?

Are you sure it was stolen OP?

She might have traded it for a bag of skag.

Go looking for the thief tomorrow with your daughter.

Junkies are habitual creatures, he'll probably be moping around the same place. Give him a slap and rob him.

Imagine that? Investigating theft! Shocker. If someone robbed a wallet with 500€ in it, you'd want it back, or even some sort of attempt to do so.

True. It's cheaper to replace a daughter.
And even cheaper to throw her to the junkies altogether!

I understand OP that your anger isn't so much for the phone but for your daughter, but openly texting on your iPhone, especially somewhere like the quays is asking for trouble. Maybe you should at least mention that she needs to be more careful in future, not because it's her fault it was stolen, but because there are ways to help prevent it happening again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,207 ✭✭✭hightower1

Did you expect sympathy? Come on, 18 year old with an iPhone, as it apple wasnt pretentious enough already!

Anyway, glad to hear your daughters ok though.

OP I dare you to go up to your daughter and whisper to her " if you don't have an iPhone; you don't have an iPhone"...

Also probably a good job you didn't go after him with the hammer op, he may have stolen that the you would be down an i-phone, an i-daughter and an i-hammer.

This is a blessing in disguise, everyone has an Android these days.

    Junkie did her a favour.

eh guys use are all labelling this guy as a junkie and you don't know him . firstly, it's a horrible term to use - maybe try drug user and secondly what's to say the guy hadn't got a cold when you heard him on the phone.

terrible experience for your daughter . i agree with one of the other ops , that neck of the woods is notorious for iphone thefts . i stole 2 there meself last week , just kidding .

son of a bitches . lowest scum of the earth

Its not the phone, its the act of robbing the man's daughter, and you know what - I hope the thieving junkie bastard die's in screaming agony too.

In fact I hope he's revived and then has to die all over again, screaming in agonizing pain.

Seems to be a few begrudgers here who can't afford a measly iPhone and are upset an 18 year old girl has one.

Ah well, put your head down and do a bit of overtime if you have to...you'll get there...eventually.

Your daughter could have been flailing her phone in the air. Do this, expect to get robbed. Would you do that with a wallet? An iphone is an expensive item.

Let it be a hard lesson learned. It's only a ****ing phone at the end of the day.
