Nearly every second thread, one of them pops up just to pull someone up on they're*spelling.

So, do you think they should they be banned from posting?

I blame the people that thank them. It encourages them. Correcting somebody's isn't clever it's annoying.

No, people who can't spell, punctuate or pull a proper sentence together should be banned.

Not really, but it is a sad reflection on the text generation!

There are posters who are semi-literate. Many can blame their background, but some are lazy. Dictionary.com is free.

If I quote someone I'll correct glaring typos and grammar mistakes that almost render the quote unintelligible...

but I'm not a complete pedant.

I think as it is we're doing ok here.i mean yeah its not meant to be allowed but it is for the most part. I think if it were completely forced out the spelling, punctuation and grammar around here would get worse.and then we'd end up with lots of posts just pissing people off.

I think grammar Nazi's should be banned.

They only detract attention from the valuable social contribution made by real Nazi's.

Real nazis wouldn't stand a chance against grammar-nazis, they'd conjugate them back to the stone-age.

Why not just put them into a home with the Nazi Grampa's?

I love when people take something I already said, ignore it, and then say it again further down the thread to whore thanks. It's really just unacceptable arrogance.

There are no words to express how much I don't actually care, I'm just shamelessly thanks-whoring. This is a fun game.

She has let her punctuation get rather loose as of late.

Although to be honest, I think that the whole Grammar Nazi thing is supremist bullshít used by cúnts who get hooked on the spelling or arrangment of words used by someone instead of actually paying attention to point being made and responding based on that.

If you can understand what they meant, fcuk it move on. I know some really intelligent people who really struggle with spelling no need to crucify them about it every time they try to enter a discussion. Something like that might actually get to people who are self-conscious about it, after all the charter says don't be a dick. I don't like the idea of bans though, maybe little ones.

Yeah,i agree, once something is reasonably readable leave it be.the only real thing that gets to me is posts that are next to impossible to work out.like pandyandys above.

Not permanently, but a short ban would be good, unless they kept it up all the time.

There is no excuse for writing badly in sentences or not using abreviation correctly any of that sort of thing for that matter.

Any clown who says different needs a reality check.

Nazi's of the grammical kind should be embraced for keeping the retards in check and on their toes.

    Word up.

    Apart from:

    - English not being your native language
    - Dyslexia
    - Not being very adept at writing skills
    - Being drunk
    - Not caring enough to be bovvered
    - etc

The apostrophe is possessive and should not appear here. The plural of "Nazi" is "Nazis". "Nazi's" indicates something belonging to a single Nazi eg, "The Nazi's gun".

While constant nit picking can be tedious, I find that a large minority of forum posts are unintelligible on first reading.
