this is not surprising. it has been a while since they last released a song, and their fanbase is gone. moved on to the reformed take that (original boyband and WAY better than westlife ever were), or grown up and realized that westlifes soppy ballady popcrap is rubbish.

Oh but they really were. Its not mainly because they are a boyband they are hated, Five, Blue, Backstreet Boys and N'sync were garbage for the most part but once in a blue moon they would release something that you would not be ashamed to tolerate!

Westlife just released songs bad song after bad song.

Maybe their hit songwriter that writes their songs got writers block? Lets face it, its the unknown songwriter that is the backbone of most these acts.

And yeah comin up to Christmas was obviously staged in order to get those greatest hits albums and interviews out there.

I say fair play to them, a bunch of young lads that milked it for all they could get out of it. They are all financially secure and will live on the royalties well into old age. Not to mention the future monies to come from the reunion tour.

Seem to be a decent bunch. Their music wasn't my preferred genre but they knew how to hold a tune. Their version of "You raise me up" was quite good.

But was it "their music" ? I thought they just recorded other peoples songs. To call themselves a "Band" when they don't play any instruments is stretching it a bit too.
