    Hey there,

I'm about to bite the bullet and hit the Gym,
I'm 30 almost 31, been to the gym before and was doing heavy cardio etc a few years ago and was fine, but i've had some bad dental problems stemming from an elbow in football and have been on painkillers for a couple of years, which im sure has had an effect on my body!

My cardio is awful, like joggin for 30 seconds has my heart rate all over the place haha, i have very skinny arms and legs and neck, no muscle at all, and a flabby belly and slight man boobs! i basically wanna work on my arms legs and neck, and cardio, and reduce my bodyfat %.

Where should i start in the gym? some cardio and light weights? then use Way protein or something?

    Cheers

Have a read of the stickies, should answer a lot questions you might have,

Hit the gym, get a program done out for yourself. Any gym instructer will do it for you.

Start off with a 3 day a week work out, go on bodybuilding.com and muscleandstrength to find exercises or a complete workout, most of them on there are pretty decent.
Next thing is your diet, you'll want to be eating a lot of lean meat.
Stay away from anything that's made from white flower it's no good for you, brown bread is nice anyway :)
You'll want good fats carbs and proteins, some examples of good fats are peanut butter and eggs.
Brown rice/bread, whole wheat pasta or oats for carbs and Low fat mince meat, pork chops, chicken, turkey etc for protein.
Don't drink beer that often if you're worried about your belly.

Really the 2 things that screw a lot of people over are missing too many days in the gym and letting their diet go arse ways, you just need to stick to it and you'll see results.

Consistency really is the key. Fair enough if you miss a day in the gym every know and then, or go on a bit of a binge. But you need to just forget about that day and continue as you were before.

If you're consistent with your diet and your exercise, you will see results.
