Just wondering if anyone can recommend a modem. We have been using the one supplied by eircom but we'd like to update it to one that picks up a better signal from the wireless adapters downstairs. Any suggestions / recommendations welcome as to what model to go for and one that's good value too. Thanks.

What you are looking for is a wireless router/modem and for the record it is the adapters downstairs that receive the signal from the wireless router/modem.

It is virtually impossible to recommend a model that will improve the signal in any particular situation as each situation is different. Have you tried changing the wireless channel and checking to see if there are any other wireless channels around that might be interfering with yours?

Thanks for the reply. I have ordered a new adapter and modem so will see how we get on as both we have are quite slow and dated. I didn't try changing channels but will look into it. Thanks again.
