Just wondering what your favourite albums of the year so far are? It's actually been a very good year for metal for me. Normally I'd only hear a couple of great albums a year, but this year is very good. Here's mine:

    Amon Amarth - Surtur Rising
Thulcandra - Under a Frozen Sun
Draconian - A Rose For The Apocalypse
Omnium Gatherum - New World Shadows
Blood Ceremony - Living With The Ancients
    Arch Enemy - Khaos Legions
Demonaz - March Of The Norse
In Solitude The World, The Flesh, The Devil
Amorphis - The Beginning of Times
Septic Flesh - The Great Mass
Primordiall - Redemption at The Puritan's Hand
While Heaven Wept - Fear Of Infinity

Don't think I have heard a truly great new album as of yet this year.

Been some good ones, and quite a few let downs, but I am still holding out for that great one. Some of the best albums released this year were remastered classic albums.

The good new albums so far this year for me are

    White Wizzard - Flying Tigers
    Mastodon - The Hunter
Black Stone Cherry - Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea
Jane's Addiction - The Great Escape Artist
Five Fingered Death Punch - American Capitalist
While Heaven Wept - Fear Of Infinity
    The Answer - Revival
    Skindred - Union Black
    Slaves To Gravity - Underwaterouterspace
    Devin Townsend Project - Deconstruction

    Altar of Plagues - Mammal
Between the Buried and Me - The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues EP
    Amorphis - Beginning of Times
Born of Osiris - The Discovery
Circle Takes the Square - Decompositions Vol 1. EP
Devin Townsend - Ghost & Deconstruction
Explosions in The Sky - Take Care, Take Care, Take Care
Mogwai - Hardcore Will Never Die but You Will
Scale The Summit - The Collective
    Protest The Hero - Scurrilous
    Thomas Giles - Pulse
Wolves In The Throne Room - Celestial Lineage
Touché Amore - Parting The Sea Between Brightness and Me
Machine Head - Unto The Locust

    It's been a good year I think.

Haven't really gotten many great Metal records this year (well, not ones that have been released this year anyways. I've been listening to Body Count and Nuclear Assault instead), but I'm really enjoying Kittie's I've Failed You album, and off course Anthrax's Worship Music has to be the best thing I've heard in feck knows how long.

    I have a few I've liked quite a bit..

Deicide - To Hell With God
Children of Bodom - Relentless Reckless Forever
Sylosis - Edge of the Earth
    Shining - Född Förlorare
    Arch Enemy - Khaos Legions
    Decapitated - Carnival is Forever

So far however, my favourite has been Passion by Anaal Nathrakh. It's not quite as good as In the Constellation of the Black Widow, but it's still great.

Don't think Mastodons new one is that great,On a lot of lists in here though all the same.Expected a bit more.

The new Darkest Hour,Sylosis,Opeth,Unearth,Times of Grace All Shall Perish and Textures albums I've all enjoyed.Just got Abzu haven't listened to it yet but if its anything like their last album it can go up on that list.

I usually find my favourite album of the year is something 10 years old that I'm only coming accross now :o

Haven't really picked up much stuff (that came out this year), but Obscura's 'Omnivium' gets my vote by a country mile. Also, hooray for -

    Cynic - 'Carbon Based Anatomy'
Evile - 'Five Serpent's Teeth' [sic].
