Your gran could pass on her iTunes password along with the family silver as a survey suggests that 11 per cent of Brits have either put internet passwords into their wills or plan to do so.
    ...
25 per cent of the 2,000 adults questioned saying that they had collected films, music and software worth at least £200.
    ...
A quarter said they had "special photos" stored online, one in 10 said they had treasured videos there and the same number kept sentimental emails from loved ones.

    So what's your plan ?

Would you have a password in escrow ?

Or some sort of puzzle that will take ages to crack ?

Do you have "special" photos or "treasured" videos online or "sentimental" emails ?

Would you sell off your gran's stuff ?

I'd left them figure out my password(s) for themselves. It'd keep them occupied for a while.

This is actually something I've thought about. If something happened to me there's quite a few overseas friends who I'm in contact with only on facebook, email etc. so I would give my password for things like that. As for i-tunes and the like, the thought never even crossed my mind.

I did often wonder about this, i reckon there is millions on online wallets and gambling sites that is left there as the owner has died.

I'll put a clause on my will.

First one to break my password gets all the cash.

*jokes on you I'm feckin broke*

I've got a USB powered dead-man's handle on my desktop, so that everything on my hard drive is spread across the internet when I croak.

....and I wasn't quick enough to get my hands on me gran's stuff, and it was looted long before I got there.

I went for a jog a couple of months ago and as I pulled up about 50 meters from where I started, thinking I was about to die, that very thought crossed my mind.

Thousands of them. Each stickier than the last.

Not a chance, I might include a password to destroy everything I've ever done online though.

How can you have that many posts in a month when I am struggling to get 404 :(

He's currently going at a rate of 45 posts per day, which is disgusting to think about. Most authors don't even write that much per day.

I regularly delete history and phone stuff, would hate for anyone to have access to my PM's on here or FB or email....
Am hoping if i die, my laptop will self destruct also...

Hmm posting the same thing twice clearly means there is a repeated pattern in your password.
Also strong clues in the capitalisation of your username and also the misspelling.
    Give me an hour

My brother who had a sex change told me your password

I need to leave my Facebook password to someone, so they can close down my account after I die.

Hate with a passion when people write to dead people's facebooks. Especially the people who never spoke to them when they were alive. Also I don't know what happens after you die, but hopefully I'll be doing better things than checking my facebook to see who misses me.

So gonna give it to my boyfriend. I've told him he has permission to status update for a couple days first "Chillin' with Jesus" and the likes and then its gone.

I am drunk after not even half a glass of red wine and I wouldn't add such a thing into a will and at that not add to a will which I do not have and not have even filled out yet a bit young like...only really half-half a century old. Not a chance would have all my passwords be gone and stuff closed down well before I die.

I don't have anything of great value online but would like someone to tell the online world of my passing. Luckily quite a few of people I know in RL are on Boards and any other online communities I'm part of.

As we've seen here too many times (recently with Rozabeez and Eirebhoy) you could be gone in the morning and a lot of people who would consider you a friend of acquaintance might never know.

As for my pc, I think it'd be better for all concerned if they just stuck a nice big electromagnet to my hard drive for a while and left it at that!
