What do you believe to be the most dangerous cult?

Nothing holds a candle on Scientology. This really is the most dangerous cult simply because of their sheer power and influence. Their principle ideals are absolutely off the wall.

What do you consider to be the worst cult? I reckon some of these guys probably know it's all nonsense but propogate it to turn the scientology wheel. I don't get how anybody with half a brain could buy into this ****.

you could replace Scientology with Catholicism, Judaism, Islam and any other major religion and that same quote would apply to all of them. the only difference between a cult and religion is tenure and membership numbers.

True, but the Scientologists have a crazy amount of wealth. Same could be said for catholicism mind you. Scientology is easier to pick on because there are no real subdivisions.

if i set up my own religion tomorrow, and i decided that all my followers would follow my rules, no matter what they are, no matter how often i change them, that they should automatically make their children follow me, that they should give me a percentage of their monthly wage and they should never question anything i decide, how many people would follow me???

Catholicism by far, from devestating single lives to entire continents they make Islam look like a community theatre troupe

While Islam Is far from perfect at least they encouraged education and Scientific thinking at some stage I would view them as almost on par with the greeks for innovation in Architecture and Medicine
