    Hi guys,

A friend of mine who is trying to watch what she eats was asking me yesterday about the Eddie Rockets menu. She was wondering if there's any chance of going there and not completely blowing her diet! I thought here was the place to ask :)

I'm invited to a birthday dinner there next week, I wasn't planning on getting anything, but I'm also curious to know! The nutrition section on their website says "coming soon", although I remember reading somewhere that one of their milkshakes is 1,000 calories!!!

My friend was trying to google the calories amount in their quesidillas (which she says are to die for :o )

I know Eddie Rockets is NOT the place to go when your trying to shed the pounds but is there anything on the menu that wouldn't set you back too much? I'd say every single item has a zillion carbs in it :P

While it doesn't contain the nutritional details in all their glory, this blogger has compiled a list of Weight Watchers pro points for a lot of ER's menu. Might be a good starting point. :)

wow that's actually a brilliant page! I'm not very familiar with weightwatchers, is there usually a rough amount of calories per point??

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about one off meals like that. They aren't going to make a big difference in the long run providing they are a one off.

If she's really conscious about it, she could skip breakfast or lunch and eat whatever she wants(within reason, a regular meal for example) in Eddie Rockets. That way, at least some of the extra calories from the fast food would become irrelevant.

That's true. I think she just doesn't want to feel like she's ruined her week! She's big into calories counting so she's on a search to find the calories for her favorites!

Apparently they now do a menu with Unislim and have a seperate menu that have salads, burgers etc that are in accordance with a Unislim diet?! I never knew that!

I thinkk they do a "unislim" sponsored burger called the bikini burger

I would say its the best of a bad bunch tbh, at least the food is more natural and made in front of you unlike a Macdonalds or Supermacs, their menu is quite big aswell so im sure they will be a healthier option for her to take when there

    Hi All

I have just signed in as I am a Newbee but enough is enough I completely understand that people are concious of their weight as I am but I have been in touch with Louise Collins who is a customer service administrator and has stopped answering my emails about the nutritional information the the food.

After a year still NO NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION.

I have two children with Cystic Fibrosis and whatever they eat they need to take enzymes which everyone elses body produces. The wrong enzymes can result in severe tummy pains, severe bowel motions and tummy cramps which is not nice for a little who thinks she is having a treat.

I am very confused, in January Louise Collins told me they had a specialist company coming in and they would have the results in three months but still no news.

 Whats burger in a bowl? can ya get double?

Yep double burger in a bowel, its good for me on paelo diet. Everything in a burger except without the buns, I don't have cheese either but extra pickles. Sweet potato fries are low GI and super tasty, they are pretty bold in all fairness being deep fried but you can't lead a miserable existence all the time.

Personally I think the value is better in rockets these days, there was a time you couldn't get a drink, burgers and fires for two without spending 50 euro. But much better now.

But does the burger itself not have breadcrumbs in it?

IMO if your gonna go to a fast food restaurant expect to be eating high Calories, high carb, high fat foods - there not deigned for healthy people or dieters.
Usually when places like that do offer a "healthy" option , there is just as much calories carbs etc in it as any other meal. Mc Donald's salad for example

Having a treat once in a while isn't going to ruin or blow or diet. You need to live. Just don't over order or make it a regular habit :D

Went to Nando's for "fast food" last weekend.

    1/2 chicken
    Energy (kcal): 352.60
    Protein (g): 49.90
    Total Fat (g): 15.60
    Total Carb (g): 3.20

    Sweet Potato Mash
    Energy (kcal): 248.00
    Total Carb (g): 45.40
    Sugar (g): 13.60

Unlimited refills of water = 0 anything

Have to say, in my humble opinion, not going to be a diet breaker for many. Consider the sweet potato your carb portion for the day... oh and delicious :)

Some of the Chinese all you can eat buffets also have "single plates", this is a reduced price for people not wanting "all you can eat", so might be €5-6 instead of €10-15 and you are only allowed go up once, or use a smaller plate once. So you can go up and just pick out say chicken from dishes, no rice or noodles, and just have the residual sauce on the meat.

I expect if you went into ones without this advertised they might give a reduced price single plate it you asked.

It also means you are not wasting any food, like if you would throw out buns of burgers etc.

Some will do takeout menus based on weight too. I hate the way most Chinese takeaways include the rice/chips/noodles in the meal price. If getting a Chinese I often now just get a starter like wings or ribs, the portions are usually huge, intended for 2 people.

Gosh, this thread is interesting! I love to have a little something every so often in Mcdonalds, Supermacs etc. However, I always aim to go low-calorie so I tried the Salsa and Cool Mayo Grilled Chicken wrap with 330 kCal-is this ok to eat maybe once or twice a week?:o

    I'm addicted to it:o:)

^^^Oh, I should add that I am a healthy weight(below 120lbs anyway for a 5' 4'' female) and try to eat within my calorie-intake recommendations:

    Breakfast: 35g Porridge with water = 150kcal

Dinner: Steamed potatoes and low-fat butter
    Veg
    Breaded Cod = 530kcal

Snack: Hot Chocolate and cereal bar = 150kcal

Tea: Roll with ham and low-fat Mayo = 230kcal
    Scone =200kcal
    Yogurt =90kcal
    Cereal Bar =90kcal

Generally, I consume 1400kcal a day, which I think is too low, perhaps?

I'd love some advice on my diet!:)

I don't think so but I'd like to know if otherwise, pretty sure they say 100% meat on the menu.

Even still how hard is it to go to eddy rockets and just eat a measly burger in a bowl (no dressings or mayo since they are made with dodgy oil)? I always feel deprived and end up stealing a few of the boyfriend's cheese and bacon fries. :o

I'd save it for a day where I plan to do a really big workout and count it as a bit of a refeed.

Possibly the easiest restaurant to eat about 3000 cals in one meal.
