Strange lump on my foot

About 5 years ago when I first started doing Cross country running I noticed a small lump growing on the side of my foot, now that after a year long respite from running, I have taken back to the sport and the problem is on my mind again.

    The lump is:

    Under the skin.

About the size of a pea

Half way between my Little toe and Heel on the Left side of my Left foot.

    Slightly sharp on one side.

If I press on it it will disappear but re-emerge within a few seconds.

When I push it and it comes into contact with a bone it can be quite painful.

Can get itchy when my feet get hot.

I did see a doctor some time ago but it was written off as a calcium deposit. But upon talking to a friend of my brothers who is a nurse, I was informed that doctors will call anything they cant identify as a Calcium deposit.

such diagnoses really can't be made on-line. If a Dr. said it's a calcium deposit and you don't agree, get a second medical opinion, not a random internet one.
