Are they calling the pacers rabbits? I've never heard that before

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,762 ✭✭✭✭ecoli

Fagan cranking it up slightly in the last 5k split. Still on for a 2.10 (or very very close)

KC with another consistent split running like a metronome

    Yeah, would be fairly common.

I think he's going to do an RR and come home with a NR, depends on how much hotter it gets...

1st half is in the shade compared to second half alot more exposed to the sun so if the temp does go up will affect alot more than it would have earlier in the race. Gonna be tough but he will be close

same commentators as last year...beauties! either coming out with semi-racist comments or just plain clueless!
i like the look of the 'xfinity' womens world record...2:15, lol

anyway, killerz is on sub 3 at 20k, splits are consistant enough

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,866 ✭✭✭drquirky

Yeah overall commentators are crap but Joanie Benoit is calling the women's race and she is the real deal....

Not unless the wheels come off for Hall, they ran the 35k split at the same pace

Krusty slowing a little, hopefully he can hold it together

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,762 ✭✭✭✭ecoli

KC looks to be finding it difficult. Last two 5k splits his two slowest of the day. Hopefully he can dig in and get back on track

Both of them slowed 35k-40k, unfortunately Fagan by more

Looks like the wheels have come off on Fagan still Olympic qualifying time in the bag and job done hopefully

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,492 ✭✭✭Woddle

Fagan getting dangerously close to being over 2:12, needs to stay concentrated.

Class from Shobukhova, the "threepeat" thing is hugely annoying though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,076 ✭✭✭Dan man

Really confused now...surely he finished? Unless something major happened.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,199 ✭✭✭G-Money

Gutted for him if that's the case, was all going too well wasn't it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,199 ✭✭✭G-Money

Maybe his chip time didn't work or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,053 ✭✭✭opus

Marathontalk are having a live chat on the Chicago marathon & they're saying he had to drop out due to "heat issues" around the 40k mark :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,144 ✭✭✭Bally8

Ah crap what a pity. He was doing so well.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,608 ✭✭✭donothoponpop

2:48:10 Krusty, great effort. That's a PB, right?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,137 ✭✭✭seanynova

Must have really got it back for the last 2.2k, he had dropped to 7:11 pace - well done - his personal page wasn't updating so I was getting worried.

SureWhyNot home in 3:07, looks like he had a hard time from 30k, well done in that heat.
