Hello people of the boating section! I'm normally in the motors section, but have a small boat that i unfortunatley could do with selling. Anyone got any leads as to where to advertise it aside from donedeal?

I know it's not the best time to be selling one really but i could do with moving it on, as i'm unfortunately not getting to use it much and while i'll b every sad to see it go the money would come in handy somewhere else.

Apolloduck and yachtworld seem to be the main two boat websites. Also some sell on ebay. How small is this boat?

i wouldnt go near the like of donedeal etc
i would stick to appolloduck and yaughtworld as suggested
you would get a lot of riff raff ringing you trying to haggle from some of them websites
nothing worse than listening to some commoner trying to get you to lower your price

I'd agree with Donedeal, really rubbish and some very dodgy callers. Having said that apolloduck is great and free, but too many fender kickers and dreamers. My own boat hasn't sold, but we've had plenty of interest.

I have to disagree with the people telling you not to put it on donedeal!
For someone buying a small boat, chances are unless they are already into boating they will have never heard of apolloduck. Donedeal is they place where everyone goes to these days, and if you do get the odd commoner ringing you up offering sh1t money, its easy say no! All you need is that one genuine enquiry!
calling people commoners and riff raff is a bit insulting isn't it, a big problem in boating is the small number of people who look down everyone else, time to take you head down out of your ass!!

I have to agree, I have bought and sold more boats in the lower price range on Done Deal than any other site.:D

The boat I'm selling will be in the "lower price range" anyway. And I'm used to buying and selling cars/vans/4x4s so I'm well able to tell people to feck off if they're repeatedly calling trying to haggle on the phone so I don't mind the risk of that.

At this late stage I suppose I will have to advertise it as widely as possible.

As a precaution you can include the words "No commoners or Riff-Raff" to the advert!!!

So far it's now on donedeal, adverts and apolloduck.ie.

If anyone offers me a swap for a honda civic or a VW passat i'll freak out at them

As said above i put it up there, but will have to borrow a credit card to have anything other than the basic ad, which is annoying because it only lets you have one picture.

Hi lads, boat sold this morning early. Dondeal was the only place i got any response from. Got my price for it, in fairness it was great value. I wouldn't be surprised if it was put up again at a higher price though, but such is the way of things.
Sad to ahev to move on a boat but hopefully i'll get another at some stage

Well, for a new daily runaround (car/jeep) for myself for the winter, and something for my dear mother who put up with the boat being stored at, and sold from her house
