Any point gettin this done in your 20s or 30s for cosmetic reasons?

    its cleaner
it makes ur penis look bigger
less sensation apparently so you may last longer
you can keep the skin they cut off and find some use for it

Im not seeing any negatives here apart from a little pain for a few days

    Nah man, Don't do it.
Its something that should only be done to a baby or not at all. You could loose sensation.

There's an episode of a programme called Bullshit! on this topic. Worth a watch before you go and do anything bat**** crazy like slicing up your bits.
If you're really vain you should start off slowly with a nose job or something.

it's not cleaner, it doesn't make it look bigger, and you could possibly lose all sensation.

Jesus christ man! What the fúck is wrong with you!
If you want your dick to be cleaner - wash the fúcking thing, don't slice bits off it.
If you're shít in bed - practice a bit more, again don't slice bits off your dick.
If it's small - well then it's just small - learn to live with it. You can't make anything bigger by cutting bits off, that's hardly fúcking rocket science!

There was an episode of Sex and the City in which one of the characters freaked out over a guy's uncut state. She had never seen one before, and (literally) did not know how to handle it. She wasn't even Jewish. The guy ended up getting a circumcision ... and promptly left her, so he could show off his "new, improved" member to a wider female audience.

Of the many "WTF?" moments on that show, that's one that stands out, all right. Apart from the religious world (which is a whole other question): only in fashion-obsessed New York could an unsliced schlong be considered an aberration.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

The less sensation as a plus argument seems silly to me. I know I quite like being able to feel having sex, why would you want to lessen that? :p

I'm a girl, and I've experienced both types of penis. I prefer uncircumcised.

OP, if you get it done bear in mind that you'll lose a lot of 'give' along the shaft so **** is more difficult, and expensive in lube.

Wrong. In America, circumcision is/was the norm. According to Wikipedia, 91% of males born in the 70s and 84% of males born in the 80s were circumcised, therefore a whole lot of women in America would never have seen foreskin and would find the whole thing very alien! The circumcision rate in the States is declining though (apparently down to below 50% in the last few years).

I've only ever been with one guy who was circumcised. It was...strange. I wasn't 100% sure what to do with it while giving a handjob. I like the turtle-neck!

What's more, in some American hospitals circumsition is sometimes almost mandatory. My girlfriends sister lives there, had a son and the doctor just cut it off without asking! It was a Jewish hospital or something like that.

Anyway I think it's disgraceful. Years of evolution has kept the hood on, but man knows better so cuts it off? No thank you. I'll leave you with a quote from Arrested Development.....

"It's a Doberman, let it have its ears!"

I think most American guys get circed at birth. I had it done, I don't know why, I never asked my parents. I never even knew I was circed until I was about 15 I think as my brother and dad were the same.
I'm glad though, I've seen those nozzley horrible things the rest of you have at the end of your wieners, jesus christ, totally gross, and you must get all kinds of residue and build up in there. So I'm glad I'm circed (or half a man as one of my mates calls me), and I think if I ever had a boy I'd get him done too.

    Jesus no
They nipped me when I was a baby, but if you don't have to do it don't.

Have to say, circumsition is WRONG!!!!! How is the 'Jewish way' right and nature is wrong? Men have to wash there cocks every day, cut or uncut, just be clean.
Being cut does not make your willy look bigger or cleaner, it makes it less sentive due to your underware rubbing off the head all day long making it dead inside(lol), lol who came up with that?
As a gay guy I have seen a good few, I am not circumsized, when with someone who is, they really hurt my fella with there hands, ouch!

Having that hood gives a guy more 'movement' tbh.

Most Irish men do this thing called 'wash-ing', for which they used something called 'soap'. You're going to have a fiddle with yourself in the shower anyway, so it'll get nicely cleaned.

Before you decide to get your future son circumcised please watch the aformentioned Penn & Teller programme, and research the horrible things that can go wrong with it.

Would you get the hood of your daughter's clitoris removed too? After all, that can get grotty as well.

I thought soap on penis was a big no no?

But yeah, cutting bits of your body off just so you don't have to clean them is f**king dumb. Would you cut your ears off so you don't have to clean them as well?

You don't know what you're missing. A non-circed man can have his hands in his pockets on the bus and bring himself to jizz without moving too much and giving himself away.

Also, it's very, very easy to wash your c*ck when you shower. It's harder to wash your ears than your c*ck so the point about buildup and cleanliness is nonsense. Of course, if you don't shower, then yes, you'll get smegging buildup but if you don't shower, you'll have bigger problems anyway.

Another reason to hang onto it is one that might keep you alive in the arctic. If you've been walking for days with no food, the buildup of smegma is rich in protein and can be eaten while your jewish or arab companion starve to death. It would keep you alive long enough for them to die and become more food for you. Just try to make sure that they don't try to steal your cheese while you sleep.

I'd be fairly annoyed if my folks cut off bits of me. If I don't want a hood, that should be up to me. There is no good reason to do that to a child. If there was an evolutionary advantage to being circed (health, sex, hygiene etc) we wouldn't have it. The medical evidence in favour of doing it is flimsy at best.

I think that baby penises should be left alone. They shouldn't be felt up or cut with a blade. How would you like it if I decided to cut the top of your ears off? You'd feel violated and you'd probably think that it should be your choice to have your ears trimmed. Circumcision is the same as trimming ears.

Not with the guy I know. He's well pissed off that his parents saw fit to chop bits of him off for no good reason and without him being able to voice his opinion, he's never gotten an explanation for why they felt it necessary.

Plenty of men are pissed off about it, and many are regrowing it.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that soap on the glans will cause irritation

    Here you go then: http://www.nocirc.org/publish/pamphlet8.html

Wash the outside with soap, and the protected bit just with warm water. If you're worried about irritating it with soap then surely being circumcised is worse as there's no way to stop soap getting on it in the shower?

I did it in my early 20s. Best thing i ever did. If you are doing it for cosmetic reasons then dont. If it is a necessity i say do it. I did and i havent looked back.
Ps the pain is tough for a night or two but it quickly eases. I played a GAA match (with no cup) 2 weeks to the day after my op. And whoever thinks you lose sensation is lying. If anything it has made mine a lot better

    Well then you're obviously blind.

Unless you have to do it as a recommended medical procedure (for whatever reason) then it's a stupid idea. For cosmetic reasons?? Maybe the female or gay male posters of boards could enlighten me on that one because I'm not getting it. It will be a cold day in hell when I let a surgeon take a scalpel to my dangly bits unless it's a medical necessity.
