Low fat lunch ideas needed. I usually buy my lunch. Not in a position to bring it with me. I don't really like soup

    Sorry for prying, but why?

I make a portion and 2/3 of dinner each day. Lob the excess into a tupperware snap lock container and throw it in the microwave in work the next day.

If there's no microwave, I'd prepare a salad of Eggs, Cheese, lettuce, ham, turkey and some cherry tomatoes the night before and stick em in a good tupperware box too.

If you do this 3 days in a row you'll be able to do it allways.

And do you mean low fat, or do you mean low kcal? I'd like to get stuck into good protein & fatty lunch every day to be honest, far more satiating than low fat nonsense, and can be calorie controlled easier than many "low-fat" oversugared foods.

There's no microwave. I mean low fat. Possible high in protein so I don't feel sluggish mid afternoon. Trying to lose a bit of weight

why low fat then? I'd advise reading the stickies at the the top of the forum.

What you need is low kcal but high in proteins and lipids (fats) with carbs making up the lowest part of the meal.

The stickies are an excellent resource, both the suppers and Nutrition101 should take you no more than 2 hours to read through, and if you pay attention properly you'll be well able to figure out the right meals and why you eat them.

For the best sustainance that is low fat and low carb (you really need to reduce the carbs to lose weight), I would suggest a variation of protein filled salads. Ham, Egg, Tomato, Cucumber, Lettuce, Beetroot, good dashing of cracked black pepper. Or cook up some chicken breast the night before and have that on a salad. There are so many salad vegetables to choose from and so many different protein sources that you should never get bored.

If you do get bored, a good homemade chicken and vegetable soup with a slice of brown soda bread would be another good option. I find most breads are too processed, and while a sandwich can be very tasty at the time, they NEVER fill me up for the long term.
