Official X factor Prediction thread 2011

Hi everyone. This thread worked really well last year, thanks in no small part to Handsome Bob (when did you change your name?:eek: ).

We might as well give it a go again this year! Reading through the actual X factor thread ibarelycare said she'd give me a hand so the two of us can attempt to keep this show on the road.

Following the same format as last year, this is what you need to do:
In case of a single elimination
Bottom 2 - Act x and act y.
Eliminated - Act y.

In case of a double elimination
Bottom 3- act x, act y and act z
Eliminated - Act x and act y

The breakdown of points will be the same as last year
in case of a single elimination
Single Bottom 2 act correct -3 points
Both both two acts correct - 6
Correct act eliminated - 6

In case of a double elimination
Single Bottom 3 act correct -2 points
Two Bottom 3 acts correct - 4 points
All bottom 3 acts correct - 6 points
Eliminated act correct - 6 points

This means that the maximum points you can get each week is 12.

In the interest of fairness, you MUST post your predictions before the show begins on Saturday, meaning the deadline for predictions is 19.30.

Really hard one to call this year as three of the groups are new so it's hard to judge them. Also some contestants have had much more airtime.

Apparently the big twist is that 4 are going home on Sunday, with a judge having to eliminate their own act. In other words, no public vote! So maybe we should start from scratch just to cover each base:

Gah I HATE this twist! For pointing I think we should do 3 points per correct act, so it's still out of 12.

Here's my prediction anyway:

Boys: Marcus :( (I love Marcus and think he's amazing but Gary called his voice "generic" so I think he'll get rid)

Girls: Sophie

Overs: Jonjo (I'm really dithering over this...I have a feeling Louis might keep Jonjo for the whole soldier story, but he is the weakest so I'm hoping he might make a sensible choice!)

Yeah I'm really struggling with the girls. I think Sophie's the obvious choice because she's had a fraction of airtime that the others have had. I'd love Janet to go but Kelly loves her too. I agree with you that Misha might be in trouble. She has a belter of a voice, probably the best in the competition, but I have a feeling the audience aren't going to take to her very well. I think her confidence might be mistaken for cockiness which will be a pity.

It's so tough because all it takes is for someone like Sophie give an amazing vocal, James or Marcus to blow us away and suddenly it's a whole different game! I doubt any of us will get 12 points, especially as there is three new judges so we can't predict what they will do.

I don't think the producers will get rid of 2 Shoes just yet for 2 reasons. Firstly they'd be accused of discrimination over the whole pregnancy issue and secondly if they go then there's only the boot camp manufactured groups left which would beat the purpose of groups auditioning.

I reckon James will go. Raging myself that I picked Rhythmix and Sophie, I feel Amelia and Two Shoes are certs now, there's bound to be at least one shock though!
