Free Hugs in town

Was in town a few months back and there was a group of people outside the stephens green shopping centre, there was about 10 of them,boys and girls,mostly teenagers,maybe a couple of them were early 20s.they had the same tshirts on and signs saying free hugs

Some people were going up to them hugging and then chatting to them for a couple of minutes.. i woulda went over for a hug but i decided i had nothing to say to them so it would be weird just hugging them then saying thank you and walking along on my way,ive been thinking if i saw them again id go over for a hug.....

Just wondering what other people opinions are on this,would you hug the strangers?
Would you hug the boys or the girls? im a guy but i probly woulda hugged a guy,it would feel less awkward for me..
Would it make your day any better?i guess thats why they were doin it..

And lastly,would you be cheeky and grab a little ass while your hugging or is that not allowed in such situations?

I would put a large carrot down my pants and approach both the boys and girls and give them a nice big long close hug.

Probably give a little groan in their ear to make them feel special aswell, seeing as they are providing such a valuable service.

I didn't want a free hug and I didn't feel like explaining why I didn't want one so I walked past without saying anything.
