This has probably been noted already - Local Authority Fire Dept issue Fire Certs on the strength of submitted documentation!  I could be wrong on this point but believe the Local Authority Fire Dept only have to inspect 15 - 20% of approved Fire Certs on site to ensure compliance with submitted documentation.

The construction industry relies on 'professionals' to do the correct thing & only certify what is correct, in accordance with Building Regs!

Problem happens when something like this happens & architects/engineers Certs of compliance are seen for what they are - worthless!  All because the law society except the word 'substantial complete' on these Certs!

Corporate manslaughter need to be brought into this country!

My thoughts are with those displaced!
