I recently started the Couch to 5k and I'm on week 4, it's going well. But I can't help feeling I should be doing something on the two days in between if I want to shift this excess I've allowed to build up over the past year or so.

I've Googled a fair bit, but have yet to come across a similar kind of programme for home weightlifting. I have a set of dumbells and will never, ever be a gym person. Just not my thing. If anyone can point me to a beginner type programmme of this sort, I'd be grateful.

    Thanks.

    Well there's One Hundred pushups?

I haven't done it as pushups make me want to die inside :o
but I know people who have done it - it does work, and it is progressive like C25km, yet still gives quite good results - it's only 7 or so weeks, and 100 pushups is a lot!

There are lots of progression programs for weight lifting.
In fact, all beginner programs should be provessive, starting off light and working up to heavier stuff.

These could be done at home, but really most of them need barbells not dumbells. Plus, a "set of dumbells" wil prob be too light of most leg exercises.

I'd be pretty sure that most, if not all, beginners won't get through the program in 7 weeks, either by taking longer to get to week 7 or by not getting to the numbers in the later weeks
