You must realise; sweat gets in your eyes...

Great, now that song will be stuck in my head all day.

Anyway, I've taken to spinning, but am finding it hard to concentrate on my technique when I can barely see through the sweat dripping into my eyes - it's bad as the instructor insists on keeping your head up at all times, and I don't like taking one hand off the bars to wipe a towel across my forehead.

I was thinking about getting a sweat band, but do they even sell them anymore and is it possible to wear one without looking like Bjorn Borg? Short of magically growing bushier eyebrows, is there anything else I can do?

I've heard putting a bit of vaseline on your forehead stops this. Not sure if you're meant to put it above or below your eyebrows though!

Would you not inadvertently smear it all over your face when you go to dry yourself a bit? Or do you have to not touch your face for the duration?

They have baseball caps with built in sweatbands, perhaps the lesser of 2 fashion evils, I meant to get one for cycling outdoors where I do actually need the visor. Or you could put a large cap over the sweatband.

This is the beauty of training at home, now worry of what you look like, you can do it in the raw if you want.

You've just reminded that I have one of these. Probably no good for the vast amounts I'm expelling, but worth a try (and like you say, I can hide a sweatband under it if it's not enough). So now, where do I get a sweatband? Champion sports?

Maybe champion, I see them on CRC, who deliver free from the north, should have it in a few days. They usually only sell decent quality stuff too.

be careful as some headbands would be for keeping you warm, not absorbing sweat.

Vaseline on just your eyebrows is all you need.

Just in case anybody doesn't know, vaseline is just a brand name for petroleum jelly, and you can usually get supermarket's own brand petroleum jelly a lot cheaper. The big pots are sometimes only in the baby section, the mini pots for your lips are a rip off, but the container can be handy rather than bringing out a big pot, just dab in more from the big pot. You might have some other jars, like those mini jam/honey ones.

I have never tried it on the eyebrows, but wasn't sweating much with this miserable summer anyway.

Never tried the vaseline on eyebrows, heard of it being used but never tried it, I may give it a go.

When Im running in warm weather, I wear a GUTR. See though headband with a 'drain' that allows sweat do the side of your face.
