    You've got some good advice already. I second the motion of finding two thick woolly sheep and then shoving your feet up their jacksy. You can also repeat the process for gloves and of course a nice ear warmer.
    Being a hardy country boy I shun those pansy accessories although I am partial to using one as a willy warmer on a particularly cold night.

    A camping or hiking shop do specialised socks.

    Worth it you are into trekking, but they don't last long, they become small woolly socks after a few washes.
