Just finished watching the pilot, this is Gilmore Girls 2.0.....and it's terrific!, the snappy dialogue, quirky characters, funny and whitty. Very solid performances from Bishop and Foster.

The four ballet girls are all first timers or very little previous tv work, they feel fresh and new....but the acting here from these young girls is the weak point, but i expected as such.

Right now it's the adult dynamic that is most engaging but i did enjoy the ballet aspects, no body doubles i could see....the girls can do the basic moves at least.

Twas enjoyable seeing Michelle taking the girls through a routine.....i'm in, it was a very strong pilot, it's very old skoool WB glory days.

I hope this is good. I'd be optimistic about Palladino being involved in anything and I love Ballet (did it for years) so I may be easily pleased with this one. Will look up the pilot!

I liked the pilot, there were a few times when I laughed out loud.
I was looking at the actress who plays the main character and I couldn't remember where I knew her from. Was driving me crazy until I realised she was Coco "so hot she's making me sexist" from Flight of The Conchords!!

I didn't like it at first but by the end of the episode I was hooked. Thought it was very good and had that all important "feel good factor"What a shock ending though:eek: Looking forward to next weeks episode.

Shonda Rhimes should know better.

I've only noticed this "lack of diversity" backlash recently, it also happened with HBO's "Girls". I don't know if they caved or just happened to be doing more casting but it's pretty stupid.

It really isn't inconceivable that, in a small town like the one Bunheads is set in, there wouldn't be a hugely diverse population. Rhimes could have at least given the show some kudos for being witty.

It's not working like Gilmore Girls worked. (I know it's unfair to compare the two but they're so similar: quirky lead, strange new town, half the GG cast are actually in this). Sutton's character is essentially a version of Lorelai Gilmore (perhaps a childless Lorelai). She doesn't have a character to bounce off yet, like Lorelai had with Rory.

There's also weakness in the younger cast members. It's not quite working yet but hopefully it will tighten up a bit in a few eps. It's a pity because there are some great moments in the script. Palladino hasn't lost her wit.

Delighted to hear Sean Gunn is joining the cast too. Palladino obviously has a lot of pull with casting.

Wow!...Sasha really outdid herself in the rebellious brat dept. this week!, jesus she's annoying....and rude!, smacked bum me thinks. and boo @ Ginny and Mel for nixing Boo and the short guy, Boo needs some lovin'!

The only girl not getting any screentime is Mel, and even Ginny gets nothing compared to Sasha and Boo. lol @ Michelle breaking post sex re; Hubbell.

LOL!...Michelle maced the entire ballet company....hillarious and horrific all at the same time, ooh god how i miss Hubbel!

There is just something about the character Alan Ruck created, it was a HUGE misstep by ASP killing him off in the pilot!
When he appeared in the dream i realised how much he could have sorted Michelle out. I have no doubt Michelle will be back, but i'd say it'll take 2-3 eps.

Dead Poets Society?....bit OTT, she's not a life changing person or anything!

It still hasn't really kicked off action-wise, it has a very sedate pace. I'm not sure if I like any of the characters enough to keep watching but I'll give it a chance.

Don't know if its been mentioned before but if you are looking for a cool show, funny, with excellent writing then check out Bun Heads. I won't say what it's about as it sounds awful. But it is very good fun.

Anyone else still watching this? I missed a few episodes and watched them all at once there and I think it's gotten much better.

There's more of a rhythm in the flow of the show and the tone is working a lot more than it was.

I also think the dance sequences have come on leaps and bounds (puns!). The most recent addition to the cast, Cosette, is just a beautiful dancer.

Still watching here, look forward to it every week now and i think season 1B is better then 1A, lovin Cosette and how they introduced her. Dan Palladino has a real flare for quirk and teen movie nods

ASP has said they'll focus on the shows strengths more, ergo more dancing...
Ginny has really grown on me and her acting has improved alot. But they need to give Emma Dumont more to do....which is weird because based on IMDB she had the most acting experience out of all the girls so......

Sadly Fouxy the show is tanking in the ratings, the lastest barely got over 1m and the female demos are.....pathetic.

PLL got a 3.5 demo, TLG got a 1.6 and Bunheads got a 0.9
TLG is beating Bunheads by a large margin....add to which TLG has got some big shockers planned that will give it the edge.

ABCF watchers are calling it, Bunheads cancelled.
