That's pretty much what I'd expect from United. Only real question mark for me is whether Hernandez or Welbeck plays. For me, it should be Welbeck after his European exploits midweek and his fantastic start to the season. But I wouldn't argue with seeing Hernandez in the starting lineup.

Of course Ferguson is always liable to throw a surprise change elsewhere in the team also.

Is Rooney back for sure then?

Sir Alex said he was fit and trained very well yesterday, so one could only presume so.

How has Hoolahan been playing so far this season?

He's actually played quite well when selected imo, but Lambert has left him out a couple of times to make the team more solid defensively.

There's a short BBC article about his season here.

Blatter, that is the team I would pick too.
We need to make sure of 3pts going into the International Break, especially with the Pool and City games coming up after said break.
Rooney to continue his scoring form and Hernandez to cause problems all day for the Norwich back 4.
    3-1.

    Easy for United.

Hopefully Weso gets a game and does some magic though.

One way easy win for United.

    3-0 without Rooney. 5-0 with.

A easy day to the guys selling scarves. They only need bring their green and yellow ones!
    Mufc fans can stock up.
Rooney should do the business though

    Delighted that Rooneys back.

Surely he'll go out and grab 2 or 3 goals.

Hes available in anyways. Not sure if he'll start, hopefully though.

Why rush him back, it's only Norwich.

Start Owen and Berbatov/Welbeck in this one in my opinion. Absolutely no need to be risking the likes of Rooney in a game like this.

I must admit I have been impressed by Richie De Laet of Norwich lately. He really has been pivotal to Norwich's success so far.

I would have loved to see him facing Rooney and Hernandez today. This has been a great loan experience for him and I sincerely hope he can keep Norwich up.

Bright prospect for the future and I'm pretty sure he's good enough to make it here.

I agree with you. He was a player signed for our reserve side, and he doesn't have the ability for our first team.

i reckon he can be a solid player for lower half prem teams though he's just not at the level that we require. was a really strange signing tbh

He hasn't played for the last few games, which are the only ones Norwich won...

All he did was score one goal, he's made bad mistakes too.

No de Gea, Rio on bench, Young not involved.

    Allegedly.

From Herzogschild on twitter, usually decent enough source I think.

Unsurprising Young is not in the team/squad - he was rubbish after the last Euro game

    edit

Surprised Young is in the team, for the same reason

Donutgate must have affected DeGea more than first suspected

Think it may be park instead of young .

So Young may be starting? Either himself or Park depending on who you read.

According to Lindegaard United is a "Gentleman's club".

Strippers, cigars and whiskey in the dressing room at half time? :P

Had hoped Evra would be dropped today as an overdue kick up the arse.

Really fancy Ando to score today.

You're point is misguided coz he DID play in the last EURO game. Which was his first ever CL game so he had some nerves. Thought he was good though and came up with an important goal.

Well then, I don't know what I'm on about.

I just remember watching a match and thinking it was Young's worst game since signing.

Must have been the one after the Chelsea match (it wasn't the one during the week against Basle, only caught the last 20 of that)

He was very average against Bolton after playing a couple of England internationals that week.

    That's it!

    I knew I wasn't going totally mad.

    "very average"?

United's worst player that day, imo

I still he can play there in a lot of games no problem. Sure he didn't have the best of games midweek but I would use that as a yardstick. He certainly want alone that night.

SUBS: de Gea, Ferdinand, Carrick, Giggs, Owen, Welbeck, Berbatov.

Young not on the bench, he might have been injured in the warm up

we always seem to have defensive injuries piling up.

yeah i think we can get away with it in certain matches but its just something i dont really like. hes not a natural defender and his strengths lie in his running with the ball and getting a cross in (which again playing at rb against weaker teams at home he can still do i guess).

i would just hate it if he got game time there as opposed to the other options we have when they are fit but given what smoked said i suppose its just needs must
