We’ve had an edict from above that we must close down the Broomwagon. Apparently it’s taking up too much cyberspace. Once it hits 10,000 posts it will disappear in a puff of smoke. I blame a number of posters who seem to excel at posting off-topic drivel. Top of the list is Captain Havoc who has made over 8% of all posts in the thread since its inception a couple of years ago (although Vlad and Lumen are perilously close behind him;))

Anyway, we want to find a sneaky way to maintain our organ for off-topicness. One thought was to free up some space by just deleting everything the Captain ever said, but that would only delay the inevitable. We will, however, investigate whether it is possible to get a gagging order preventing him from taking the new thread the same way as the last one

Hence we’ve come up with the idea of starting a new all-singing, all dancing home for mindless ramblings. The problem is we don’t have a name for it. Some bright spark in “the Office” suggested the Broomwagon II, but I think we can do better than that. Therefore we’re going to run a competition to find a new name for the new thread. And to encourage you all I’m going to stump up some of my own equipment* as a prize to the poster who comes up with the best suggestion. The Mods will judge this, and hence are ineligible for this very special prize. Please make your suggestions in this thread which will be left open during the course of the day

    Sag Wagon?
-From Wiki: The broom wagon is colloquially known as the sag wagon. SAG is an acronym which stands for Supplies and Gear. By extension, cycle-touring groups which have a vehicle to carry their luggage and food are now said to be "sagged" in that they have a vehicle that carries supplies and gear for the participants in the ride.

Is it going to be a sticky at the top of the page? If so, how about 'Chapeau!'?

Otherwise I was thinking of 'la musette', as it has both cycling and non-cycling meanings, one of the latter being its musical aspect. Specifically, it refers mainly to bagpipes and, to a lesser extent, accordions, which seems apt in light of all the wheezing and droning that goes on here! :pac:

And of course they both have the necessary whiff of exotic continentality.

If not, then I vote for the Sister's Saddlebag.
