I've heard rumours that there is a basic gym in this facility open to the public. I've had a look at their website and can only find info about a pool. Any info would be appreciated re price opening hours equipment or if it is actually there at all!. It would suit my needs perfectly as I live quite close.

I think it might be the IWA gym on Blackheath Avenue you're thinking of?
It's round the corner from the rugby ground.

If so, it's pretty basic, but has a bench, oly bar, leg press and heavy dumbells, along with some cardio stuff (couple rowers etc) and mats.

It wouldn't be busy exactly, but after work it doesn't take much to fill up a small space. I think it's 70 quid for membership. There's no pool.

CRC has a gym and pool, I'm looking at joining at the moment. Think it's around €130 for the year, not 100% sure though. I've heard it's ok, but not very big.

CRC back into the equation! As you're about to join can you report back on your findings as there seems to be nothing out there about the CRC gym. I've membership in Jervis street running out at the end of next month, just need somewhere pretty basic to keep myself ticking over for the winter.

The CRC and IWA are pretty much on the same grounds, back to back. You can access one from the other. Could there be two separate gyms? CRC certainly has a swimming pool. The IWA has a big sports hall and a gym on the first floor.

After looking into it a bit more the gym is in the IWA on blackheath, as scooby pointed out. CRC only has a pool and this is not included in the membership rates for IWA.
