Adding reminders to calender

Hi does anybody know is there a way to add notes to the window 7 calender or any gadget that I could get which I could put notes on certain days and would get a reminder on that day.

Have u tried making appointments rather than adding notes. I don't have W7 but it strikes me that a note wont have a time dimension but an appointment will.

The other idea is if you have web-text from O2 or Voda or 3 then schedule a text to yourself;)
