Iran was polite enough to sit through Obama's rubbish speech, surely they should have the decency to sit through Iran's speech.

If they managed to join the UN recently then a little I'd say. Walking out on the job is a fuhken disgrace. If you don't like Iran fine, but at least hang around and listen to their shite.

I'm not so sure, the Macedonian phalanx was good in it's day, but even they would have had trouble against the most basic armour and projectile-firing weapons.

I'm fully aware what Iraq was about (was always about, and still is about).

The OP said that the Iranian was talking the greatest bs ever.

I posted one simple example to show that the OP was wrong.

No, if memory serves however, did he not plan to start trading it for euros.

No. These conspiracy theories are nonsense. There was a neo-con conspiracy to invade and ignore the evidence. It was not related to oil. The oil company controlled US is a myth believed by statists. The US invasion was promoted by people with in the government for their own ends.

Just looking at the pdf. from the bottom of page 3 to the top of page 5, he asks some interesting straightforward questions, and raises some important issues imo.

It doesn't. Most Iraqi oil contracts have gone to Russian and French companies.

afaik the dollar to Euro switch was made, by the Iraqis (Axis of evil member No. 1) , on oct 30th 2000, in the wall st branch of French bank BNP.
This was the UN administered account through which the Iraqis were selling 2.3 million barrels per day, under 'oil for food'. The UN advised against it, because at the time, 1 Euro was only worth 80American Cent, potentially bankrupting their entire country within 1 year.

In 2001 the Euro gained 25% on the Dollar, thus forcing the Iranians to switch their central bank reserve funds from Dollars to Euro (Axis of Evil member No. 2) On December 7th 2002 North Korea decided they were going top do all of their commodity trading (not just oil) in Euro instead of Dollars (Axis of evil member No. 3)

Hugo Chavez was re-elected in 2000, and opec chairmainship fell to him. He convened an opec meeting in Spain in April 2001, and on the table was the proposal, that all oil producing countries unilaterally switch from Dollars to Euro.

    The Federal reserves worst nightmare.

Iraq is invaded March 19 2003

Pro-Israeli neo cons off the hook once again. I see.

Anyway, much good these switches did the Euro, likely to collapse. Meanwhile creditors are paying to own American debt. It's reserve status is not in doubt.

can i have that in laymans terms?

I'm not saying there is any connection, but it is certainly interesting.

The UN, WHO etc are like the Public/Civil Service on a Global scale (minus the administrators who do a lot of work)

The majority of them are like mangers/directors who talk a load of bollix most of the time.

    Talking shops.

I am not anti P/C Service. I do know the lower minions do a lot of work :/

    NTM

Chinese companies won the most contracts. Go China (only joking)

Which begs the question how the **** did America not fix it so that they did win the lions share of the contracts. That's just plain dumb, and to be fair really does disprove the whole simplistic "invading for oil" argument.
