Hi, I have just moved back to Dublin and am looking for gym in and around the city centre where I can go and train. Don't want somewhere like westwood where it is all fancy and full of posers. As well as this, I aint been in the gym in a while and am looking to basically lift and lift is there any down to earth gyms.

If you are willing to travel to Blackrock, Ironside Gym in Blackrock.

    City Centre: Raw in Portobello.

You could try not looking at people?

Thanks for the responses, will check them out. As for the other two probably exactly the kind of people I hate being in the gym with.

Posers are good for a laugh tho, some lad came into the gym last summer covered in fake tan wearing sunglasses with a nice tight black tank top, he then put a belt on and started his bicep curl routine, no harm was done, as long as they're not curling in the squat rack when its your leg day you should just ignore them and concentrate on yourself.

the belt keeps me steady and it was ridiculously bright in there that day!

OP, what's the issue with posers?

A gym I go to is full of them, but while they're all doing bicep curls, preachers, and queing up to bench on the Smith machine, I can go about my business in the Power Cages on the far side and do all my compound lifts without having to wait around. The equipment is well maintained and there's plenty of weights, so that would be my priority.

However there is some enjoyment of seeing the look on their faces when they see the ugly guy in the ill fitting t-shirt squatting over twice their body weight

Right, I'm locking this before it turns into another annoying gym behavious thread. PM me with well thought out and witty reasons on why I should re open it and I will think about it.
