Theres a dead pigeon out the back where i work. I usually hate pigeons and think they are rats with wings. Put this pigeon has a buddy. His little buddy pigeon has not moved from his side in about 4-5 days. Everytime i go out for a smoke there he is beside his pal. I find this really sad :( but i dont want to throw the pigeon in the bin. What should i do. I have been throwing him crumbs so he doesnt starve

It probably hasn't moved cos it's eating him.

Or you know, handy supply of maggots or whatever.

I wouldn't worry about the starving bit, seeing as he's like, eh, dead and all.

Buy a couple of ballons and inflate them...attach the dead pigeon to them and watch him float off with his buddy and out of your life.

Put it in a lil box and perform a Eulogy to give his friend closure.

pidgeons have an awful bad rep, even though they are lovely friendly birds. And they are only as diseased as the next bird.

His friend isnt dead. I think its the mother or something because the ALIVE one is all fluffly and that.

Usually i would think along the same lines. But the fact it has not moved makes me think its mourning him and has struck a cord in my heart. Im probably completely wrong and he is eating his friend as Silverfish said. But i just cant bring myself to drop a bowling ball on the cnut.

Yes, but right now the next bird is dead and probably crawling with maggots and bacteria.

Did you know that 32 Pigeons were awarded a gallantry medal in WW2?

Try telling that to Tyson on a NY rooftop. I don't find em so bad. In fact i like em, I think bats may be closer to that. had this pal from cumbria who used to say that all the time. surname Fairbrother yet he was terrible hard on em pidgeons.. but like most animals are noxious when they congregate - they're broody birds that make a nice coo and don't bolt like most birds. but I wouldn't encourage em either

My heart sank reading about his friend.i'm sorry I came in here.pigeons do mate for life, and it's possible while he wont feel what we'll feel he may not know what to do. He definitely isn't eating him, don't know how anybody got that idea. There's nothing you can do op,except if you're going to feed him,get him peanuts or seed instead of presumably bread

Yep. Just crack open a bag, then sit back & much while waiting for the other sky rat to kick it.

why does everyone think that pigeons are diseased? Unless you're going to be making sweet love to it then the big bad pigeon won't hurt you.

Kids - always use a condom when you're fucking a pigeon.

Fashion a cross out of two pieces of wood.

No, don't bury him, silly! (Pidgeons arent Christian anyway) but instead get some fishing line and tie it to the cross and to the pidgeon and have yourself a pidgeon puppet show!

    The kids will LOVE it!

Not to sound insensitive, lol, about the pigeon, but maybe he's only staying because you are feeding him????

Their poo can carry diseases, same as any other bird, but it's not like any body here handles pigeons. I used to, and as long as you wash your hands after, it's fine. i'm still alive after all :)

Everyone's poo carries tons of bacteria. One must be quite dumb to smear themselves in poo and believe they'll be fine.

Also most pigeons are healthy. You're not got gonna get diseased if you hold a pigeon. They're fairly clean animals.

No they're really not very clean, but that's not their own fault exactly. I may like pigeons but I'm not going to ignore the fact that they are dirty. but then if you roamed the streets looking for food, dodging people and cars, trying to find food, you'd be a little stinky too. :)

There once was the boardsie Full.Duck,
Who off for a fag break he snuck.
Pitying the mate of the pigeon,
He wrote then raced off to the kitchen,
And to it some bread he would chuck!

    :pac:

Put out some bread with a little bit of 'bicarbonate of soda' in it. Apparently pigeons can't 'pass gas' like us lads can do, and 'boom' ... problem solved!!!!!
