Hi all, i am posting this thread to get help/advice as for years i have been the same weight ie 11 stone & have been eager to put on weight & bulk up this past few months. Since the arrival of our new daughter into the world my time predominantly is to my wife & daughter at the momenet.I actively go to the gym & have done programs to build up but my problem is sticking to going to the gym 3/4 times per week. Also, nutrition plays a key part to weight gain also.Has anyone any help/advice or what has worked for you?

    Thanks

    Feelio

Most people waste time in the gym with unnecessary exercises/sets talking etc your priority obviously lies with your family if I was you I'd do an abbreviated program 2/3 times per week no isolation exercises, just focus on really pushing yourself on the big lifts squat, bench, dead lift military press etc. My experience is most gym goers are more likely to be overtrained than undertrained so 2/3 will be fine but you will have to get your nutrition sorted, supplement if necessary and try to prepare your food in bulk so it's handy to grab on the go..hope that helps

Thanks Heno for your reply...am focusing on weights at present so will continue to do so...in terms of nutrition that is my weak point & will look to increase my meals per day together with my protein shakes.

As a recent father myself, I understand the time constraints that you are under.
The key for nutrition is planning.
Work out your required calorie intake and macro breakdwn for the coming week, and break down into the various meals/timings. Write the shopping list and go buy stuff.
Learn to cook if you can't.
Give your wife time to go out with friends or rest and keep baby in the pram in the kitchen with you whilst you cook.
Maybe do two serious cooking sessions a week and make tons of meals.
Buy a lot of food containers. They are very cheap and necessary.

This is what I do and may suit you if you do four days training a week.
    Saturday - plan and shop
    Sun - Cook
    Mon - Train
    Tu - Train
    Wed - Cook
    Thur - Train
    Fri - Train

In other words, look after wife and baby then eat, sleep and train.
    It's tough but enjoy :)
