There is a difference between an animated comedy and a cartoon. You're never too old for South Park.

Adult animated shows such as The Simpsons, family guy, south park, american dad, cleveland show, bobs burgers, futurama and what ever may join that list are not immature to watch.
Anyone who says otherwise doesnt know what they are talking about and I will gladly wipe my ass with their opinion.

Also, dude, if you're sitting at home watching Scooby Doo, or Spongebob, or Count Duckula or whatever it is........... watch away! Why wouldn't you? If it's entertaining then who cares how old you are?

My 2 year old nephew was in the house last week and we watched Sponebob for hours. It was quality!

you kidding me, they are adult cartoons

When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.

    Never OP.

Kind of a stupid question, given that Family Guy and South Park get 15+ and 18+ ratings.

You are never too old for cartoons, I was just talking to my father about this today, my favourite as a child and still is "Tom and Gerry", this is becoming my childrens favourite too.

    When you stop enjoying them.

Also, Animated movies. Have you seen Toy Story 3? One of the best movies of last year! And recently watched Despicable Me, laughed out loud so many times!

I think you should stop watching cartoons when they stop being funny or entertaining.

For example - I love early South Park, but a lot of the later stuff is pure shite.

It's nothing to do with age, just good or bad taste.

When you don't find them entertaining anymore. That could happen at 25, 55 or never.

Despicable Me is an excellent film. I laughed my arse off watching that & cried my eyes out at the end.

It's a film full of belly laughs & real heart.

A pure joy of a film.

Dude, The Simpsons from Seasons 1 to about 8 is, in my opinion, the greatest tv show of all time and one of the few that gets better on repeat viewings (for certain episodes)

I always chuckle when Family Guy is cited as mature animation for adults ;)

But yes. Animation is a wonderful artform. Whether its the emotive masterworks of Studio Ghibli or Pixar, the powerful abstract social commentary of Persepolis or Waltz with Bashir, the stylistic invention of Paprika or Belleville Rendezvous, epic action fare like Akira or Evangelion, or even something that just provides a few geeky laughs like Futurama, anyone who explores the wide range of animation out there will know its not just, "y'know, for kids!". Just because its animated doesn't render it simplistic or childish - it's just another approach to telling a story, with the added benefit of giving the artist far more freedom of expression than live action does.

Also, the word cartoon needs to be stricken from the record.

Funny, I much prefer the late South Parks are they're normally a commentary on what's going on at the time (although, I never actually find the episodes funny. I like how sometimes they can get things so spot on, like the Facebook episode).

Also, the Randy Marsh character is excellent! Best character in the show!

Batman:The Animated Series is still the best version of Bats outside the comic books ever, and that includes the Christopher Nolan movies!

Who remembers Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat?
That show was seriously trippy! The creator was certainly on some pretty strong stuff when he came up with it!

Has no one mentioned Hayao Miyazaki? Spirited Away is one of the best movies ever IMO. I also like recent and silly things. Cartoons are wonderful. Invader Zim; Avatar, the Last Airbender; the Ren and Stimpys that Kricfalusi worked on. I'll never stop watching cartoons.

Why impose such restrictions on oneself? I love American Dad, a cartoon series which targets the adult audience.
