    Anyone know of any kettlebell instructor courses around Dublin that aren't too expensive but still have good teaching fundamentals?

    I highly recommend you check out Dave Hedges from Wild Geese MMA

    -> http://www.wildgeesema.com/kettlebell_workshop.html

    I did a 3 hour workshop with him last month and it covered the following:

    - Warm Up and Joint Mobility
    - The Swing
    - The Goblet Squat
    - The Military Press

    It was very detailed and Dave answered all questions. Best of all, it only cost €35.

    Personally, I would recommend you choose your kettlebell instuctor very carefully. There are a lot of kettlebell certification courses costing €300+ being taught by people who didn't have a fecking clue what kettlebells were 3 years ago.

    Kettlebell training is one of the latest trends in the fitness industry so beware the charlatans who have just jumped on the bandwagon just to make a quick buck.

    Yeah I know what ya mean, I'm sure there's a lot cowboys around. That's one thing I'm trying to avoid. I know all the basics, I just need that piece of paper so I can teach. I think it'll be hard to find a hardcore kettlebell lifter in Ireland with years of knowledge.

    I suppose I might learn feck all but still get a cert at the end :(

    Are you already an insured PT? If you are then you probably don't need a kettlebell cert to teach it, just learn as much as you can from those who teach it well. Train with kettlebells yourself...this will help you learn both their advantages and where they fall short.

    I'll echo what sanovitae has said, there are no courses here that supply a piece of paper that actually means anything, be careful where you spend your money. This is a fact not reserved solely for kettlebell courses, it just happens to be in vogue now. I've done one of those courses mentioned so PM me if you want any further information.

    Dave from Wild Geese knows his stuff about kettlebells. Never did any of his courses, just did a load of the lunchtime classes. Think he competes in it too. Great guy to learn from!

    Mark Stapleton and Eddie Sheehan in Kilkenny Kettlebell Club. Great guys, very knowledgeable, and are hitting master of sports numbers in Biathlon and Long Cycle.
