I wasn't expecting the hurricane to hit Ireland so badly.

Today I saw a branch on the road & a Supervalu poster had been blown down from a lamp post. It was truly horrific.

So, do you have any tales of hurricane horror?

The paper napkin flew out of the bag I got my lunch in on the way back to the office. I had to wash my face and hands after instead of the normal wipe of my mouth. I'm ok now though. Thanks for starting this support group.

I was in town on my way to get lunch, the schools were all out as usual and 2 girls were walking towards me then a gush of wind came and blew one of the girls skirts up to reveal pink knickers, she went red as a tomato.

I had my fun and that's all that matters.

A motorist died today as the remnants of Hurricane Katia brought 82mph winds to Britain.

Blustery conditions have left thousands without power tonight and caused damage to buildings and caused travel disruption around the UK.

In County Durham, a driver died when a tree hit a car on the A688 at Dunhouse Quarry, between Staindrop and Barnard Castle.

I fixed mine to the ground, it's the only one left standing in the area, well apart from one of the net poles bending in the wind!.

A receipt blew out of my car and into the garden. Managed to make myself a cup of tea after and I'm starting to come to now. Still, was a scary couple of minutes.

When will this weather madness end?? I blame global warming cooling climate change co2 emissions Jean Byrne. We struggled to cope here in Kildare, there was severe buffetting and some extreme breezing along with terrifying gustiness. Never, ever reheating a chinese take-away curry again. At one stage I actually had to open the window of the van to release the pressure. Wind is hell.

The real tragedy in every severe weather attack, those poor forgotten hereo's of the fight against mother nature and all she unleashes! :(

We should lobby the coalition to erect a memorial umbrella in place of the spire!

Oh god,i've just thought.......if we get through this, there's 'the snow' to come!!

    Why is this happening?

we are being punished for unleashing the evil that is Riverdance on the world. The retribution is long overdue. all we can do is pray that this will pass. I'm gonna try alka-seltzer personally.

    Feckin' blow ins.

There was also an Irishman swept out to sea in Maine USA while at a friends wedding. Really tragic :(

Thousands if not millions of euros worth of damage and disruption has been done to property and business. I really don't think this is something to be made light of.

The back garden furniture is in complete disarray. The dogs kennel was also blown halfway up the garden. Complete carnage
