Alan Pardew has promised Leon Best a proper run in the team as he has 8 goals in 11 Premier League starts. Let's see if he can keep it up tonight.....

Expecting another fine performance from Krul.

Expecting us to line up like this
    Krul

    Simpson --- Colo --- S Taylor --- R Taylor

    Obertan --- Cabaye --- Tiote --- Jonas

    Best --- Ba

Subs: That Charlton keeper we signed (), Santon, Marveaux, Lovenkrands, Gosling, Sammy Ameobi, Vuckic

Wouldn't mind seeing Sammy start on the left with Jonas on the right because Simmo will definitely need a bit of help.

Going to be a tough game methinks but I'm hoping we can continue on our good form and remain unbeaten. Cabaye and Tiote are two very tough midfielders and not afraid to get stuck into tackles as Tiote's card record will show. :pac:

Obertan had a very good game against Fulham and has impressed me thus far. Chap is just full of running and gives it his all. Had a big part to play in the second goal against Fulham.

Big game for Ba if he starts. Had a nice assist for Best in our last game but his performances have been muck thus far.

Cabaye and Best will be vital tonight.

Cabaye's delivery is fantastic, Best's knockdowns are just begging for somebody to run onto them so I'd not be surprised if Lovenkrands started over Best.

Going to be a very tough game methinks. QPR have bought quite well and will want to get their first positive result at home so we're going to need to come out flying.

    1-1 methinks.

I hope Gary Neville isn't commentating on this game actually.

Looking forward to this Game , the Joey Barton element should give it a little extra bite .

QPR might be a little at sea trying to settle in all them new players to the squad.

MNF- i presume he will be in the studio doing his analysis.

Why would you not like him commentating?

I thinks hes a very good pundit.

His voice is a bit annoying. He was commentating on the Fulham/Blackburn game yesterday and I had to watch the game on mute because his voice was doing my head in. Not a bad pundit but listening to him for a long period of time is not nice.

Ah yes, the keeper we signed because we were so badly stuck for options in that particular position even though we had Krul, Harper, Forster and that Soderberg youngfella, while energies would have been best utilised pursuing a striker!

Anyway, should be a tough game for us tonight. We're in decent form and made a great start to the season, whereas QPR are still kinda coming to terms with life in the top flight. Tbh, I'd be a bit disappointed to lose this one but also not really expecting to win so I reckon a draw.

I agree man, hopefully we line up exactly like that.I heard Cabaye picked up a knock on international duty so hopefully he'll be grand, that bench shows how screwed we are if we get injuries.Did Vuckic break his hand btw??

It's not going to be a high scoring game at all, whoever gets the first goal will have a great chance of winning it..........Come on the Toon

Lot of changes in the Rs line-up, maybe predictably. And Barton captain... which is perfect to drive a wedge between him and Taarabt right from the start.

I think a 1-1 draw or a narrow Newcastle Utd win.

Hopefully I'm wrong though, and the Rs will give them a hiding. :D

(I skipped the Bohs match tonight for this, the guilt is killing me. Sort of)

    Hope this'll be good now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,116 ✭✭✭Professional Griefer

That was brilliant from Best, unlucky not to score.

QPR looking decent side now. Can't see them go down. But can't see them doing any better than mid-table as they seriously lack a good striker. Can't see any QPR player even hit 10 goals this season.

Horrible tackle with studs showing. A very much deserved yellow.

Newcastle are being torn apart by SWPs pace. Its only a matter of time now.

So close again QPR so unlucky Wright-Phillips. Great clearance by Taylor

How likely is newcastle Clean sheet looking ? ;/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,526 ✭✭✭James__10

Any signs of barton getting a yellow card?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,723 ✭✭✭bazual

Honestly don't know how we are still in the game. I think Shola is not up to much so would bring on Demba for him add a bit of pace to the attack. Apart from that the only other one that could change the game is Sammy.

Traore still performing like an Arsenal player then; injured.

RTaylor has had a fairly woeful night. No match for SWP.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

    Unfortunate for QPR.

They were the only side who showed anything at all tonight and they had Newcastle on the ropes for the entire game, so much so they were resorting to time wasting after 70 minutes.

It looks like both sides will struggle to score goals this season without a clinical striker, although that problem is facing a huge amount of teams in the league IMO.

Decent game for a 0-0 all the same. Both teams will be happy with the point.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,357 ✭✭✭✭SteelyDanJalapeno

Newcastle 4 games now 3 clean sheets, fair play to them they were even unlucky to concede the goal they did,

Them drawing at half time in their matches is a good shout

Jaysus Swp is tiny . Even joey barton is towering over him and he's not that big .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Credit to QPR, they bullied us and that 4-3-3 really killed us. Their signings have bedded in very well. SWP and Taarabt were outstanding last night. We rode our luck and to be honest we deserved absolutely nothing.

The lack of creativity going forward for us is worrying and against one of the bigger sides, we will be murdered.

QPR play some tidy football and if they can keep those type of performances up, they'll be fine.

Ryan Taylor struggled big time against SWP and I think it's only a matter of time before Santon is introduced to left back.
