lads im on the lookout for a blown 15hp short shaft mercury around the 1999/2001 era, i've a little j250 class race boat with a long shaft on it and its way to long for the boat, surely there are some around the country thrown in sheds that have gone pop!!!!

The one from an 8 - 9.9 and maybe even a 6 hp mercury or mariner should also fit so might help in your search, try OB marine he has a lot of parts and engines for sale.
