Must not lose for Rovers. Sligo should be out of it unless they win. Even a draw should see it down to a two horse, cross-border race. More important game than the game on Thursday.

Hopefully more of the UCD replay than the original fixture, in simple intensity terms.

Bout time too. Madness paying a manager to lose every game. He should have walked away ages ago with some semblance of respect left. Can't see him getting another job in the league now.

    Delighted for the prick.

Who else could they get in for equal or less money (can't pay more considering their current financial woes) who has the required credentials to manage in the LOI?

Go on the Reds! 9 points clear of Monaghan who hopefully lose their the appeal by Harps to award them the 3 points from last weekend. Limerick got lucky it seems, 92nd min!

Great isn't it. Amazing with him being a sham fan too. Season ticket holder or member of the old 400 club? One of the two. Hard to rule Pats out now, games mounting up for sham. Sullivan just cant help himself. Sweet. ;)

27 goals conceded part is our problem, we will have a say in who wins it but wont win it.

All 3 to come to Richmond.

Not a season ticket holder anyway and Ive never seen him at an AGM. That and he is absolutely shocking every time we play. Between him and his over weight assistant on the east stand side I cant wait to see the goals and red cards again.

Totally inconsistent all night. Best friends with Richie Ryan though, the two were having a great laugh together all night.

Sligo were the better team but Twigg wasnt allowed to jump or Rice challenge for the ball for 90 minutes so I guess that doesnt help.

Can't argue the result. The games are taking a toll on the squad. Hancock shocking. I've always liked flynner but our right full cover getting sent off same game as our right full...ffs.

Monday and Derry at home looking like big games now.

Twigg at last seems to be getting pulled up for the gangly arms and elbows that are shot up in the air every fifteen seconds anytime the ball is near. Dangerous and needless. The european refs seem to pull him up in europe everytime for it, hence that bewildered look he has perfected since he has started getting pulled for it here.

Say what you want about Hancock but it's not as bad as the time Treacy hit it through the hole in the net up in Oriel and he gave a goal kick.

Him and his father I heard are big Rovers fans.

Us little teams have always classed it as a big game it being the Dublin Derby, but in fairness if you got 7 points from the 3 you have the league in the bag.

Sean O Connor will playing LW on monday, i would suggest everyone stick a few quid on him to score :pac: still reckon you will win we not gud at defendering.

That's Neil Doyle you're thinking of. The one who reffed Shams-Drogs in Drogs where Twigg scored after injury time was up.

Don't think Hancock is a Shams fan, he's just shit

No, I know Neil. Nice guy and had to drift away from attending as often as he started moving up the ranks. Takes it very seriously and id find it hard to accuse him of being impartial but I heard from Rovers fans that hancock is indeed also a Rovers fan.

His son is a Shams fan. I know of him. A friend of a friend. He goes to the matches. His Da goes to a few but he is a fan.

Anyway, I heard Rovers were pure muck. Was there many at it?
Surely the bandwagon won't have liked what they saw.

Only bohs would view chatting about their own game as a "deflection" from the main topic of our game.

Looked about 4k there I thought but I'm bad with estimates.

I know a guy who's currently moving up through the ranks in the LoI reffing world (has lino'd at 1st Div so far), and he was told to stop attending the games of the team he supports - or at the very least to stop wearing colours. (He's not Shels btw, he's ran the line in Tolka a couple of times, always the Riverside because it's empty and we'd probably give him stick if he was over main stand side :))

Another ref ex saints fan told the same. Only time he in Richer is when he reffing and reffing badly gives us ****ing nothing :(

Sligo well deserved three points, their profligacy infront of goal stopped it being a bigger margin. Doyle must have a very low conversion rate of chances.

Once again, like Derry in Tallaght, Ndo, Greene and Dillon pushed up on Sullivan and Stevens (Derry) and Paterson tonight and Rovers had no answer to it. Hopefully Rovers develop an answer or the other teams don't have the courage or players to do it.

It's no coincidence that Sullivan got frustrated and should've been sent off for lashing out against Derry and again sent off for frustration tonight. When you're on a yellow, you can't time waste because he didn't get a decision. Hancock gave him plenty of room to just give the ball back, but Sullivan went too far.

Hancock however was appalling. The red cards had no impact on the game, but I'd rather a referee on the take to officiate. Appalling decisions for both sides throughout the entire game.

    Was it 2 straight reds?

Wondering who soccy up against on monday :D

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,721 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

Flynn was a straight red for a trademark atrocious high tackle. On for five minutes, on the halfway line when you're already down to 10 men it was inexcusable.

Sullivan was two yellow cards. Innocuous foul in the first half and timewasting for the second.

Alan Keane got his with something from the crowd after the second goal apparently. How big a fine does that bring?

Thought we deserved to win tbh. I felt sh*tty after Twigg scored, thought it would be another case of not taking the chances but we managed to get the result we deserved.

No he didnt. Alan Keane seen a bottle on the ground, grabbed his head and gave the rovers fans a cheeky smile.

Twigg was given an initial 3 game ban for doing the same against bohs but it was revoked after a double appeal. Wonder will Sligo get the same

As for fine, it initiates a suspended fine of 3k so probably looking at 5k+ or I could have my numbers way off. I just remember last fine was 3/5ths suspended so could be more.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,314 ✭✭✭BOHtox

Initial fine of 3K. Next fine of 5K.
We'll just round that off to 1.5 million and 4 points in the LOI.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,721 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

    Or..

[whataboutery]Use the template of Bohs in Tallaght throwing ten bottles at Twigg and getting a €150 fine. And leave it at that.[/whataboutery]

He did run over and celebrate in front of us. I'm not condoning the bottle throwing but what do you expect to happen? any team would have done the exact same!

Thats exactly what happened here. Took off his shirt and ran the length of the east stand. 3 game ban him, and a 150 euro fine for us would be super.

However, I am sure hancocks report will read somewhat different.

The man is on insane wages, doesn't live in Galway and was rarely taking training sessions until the last couple of weeks, was allowed write his own contract extension by Nick Leeson before he effed off in February, giving himself a big pay rise and big percentages of revenues from different things. He moaned about having no money, despite the fact that the budget he ended up with was 50% bigger than what he was promised when he willingly signed the contract(two other clubs had significantly lower budgets) . He failed miserably, causing gate receipts to nosedive and the need for the management committee to cut their cloth accordingly. This did not include Sean Connor making any concessions.

I can't repeat some of the crap he's pulled as it would be difficult to prove, but anyone who had the misfortune to cross paths with him at their club will no doubt know what I'm talking about.

Almost certain he wasn't hit and I was quite close. Looked like he did it after bottles were thrown.

Bottle throwng is dumb but he knew what to expect by running over, same as Twigg.

He got a yellow and I expect a ban too.

There is no comparison between this and Twigg. TwiGG in a ground full of Shams fans celebrated in the only small section of bohs fans. Dillon and Keane both celebrated on the side of the the ground that they play on and where the goal was scored from. I'd say the euphoria of a last minute winner was more in their minds then pissing off a few Shamrock casuals.
