At the moment I've the bike in the hallway.. which is sorta OK but you have to turn a little to get past the handlebars. :P
The missus tried to get past with two large bags of shopping and let out a 'Arrgh.. I can't get past the bike' followed by a reference to the shed.
I'm too busy on the WWW looking at what gear I need - shorts, jerseys etc and I can't be thinking about the shed.
    What to do lads

"I'm hiding your Christmas present out there and there's no room."

That should get you a few more months - of course you'll now have to buy something suitably large for Christmas

Mine has been in the house now for 6 months. It has reached "source of tension" point. :D I can't bring myself to leave it in the shed though. The thoughts of my lovely being robbed sends my heart all a flutter.

We're trying to arrange some sort of compromise, but I can't see an obvious solution.

The compromise is that the bike stays where it is. We know this is the correct course of action.

I feel your pain, I have 2 bikes in the dining room. I don't see what the problem is, it's like having my friends round for dinner.

"Would you keep a child in The Shed???"

Based on the premise: A bike is a member of the family.

"that's where I hide all the bodies"

"It's either here or the bed, so if you want to sleep in the hallway, that's fine with me and the bike"

    "titanium (or aluminum) rusts"

"you know wood is mostly carbon and my bike is made of carbon fibre - well it might get wood worm or dry rot out there."

.. the shed is cold and damp and it will rust. A rusty bike part is dangerous so I would have to spend more money on it

No joke....mine is in the sitting room. We don't use it that much except at night (edit: the sitting room that is ;)). I occasionally throw out something like "Jeez....that's some bike" to stir it up. :D:D

No other option. The woman has to go. Simple. You and your bike can then live in peaceful bliss with pizza boxes EVERYWHERE!

because the shed is full of other bikes

Simply put missus in the shed, bike stays inside and you probably wont hear her moan, its really a win win outcome

    A bike box ;)

You need to find somewhere in the house to fit one of these:-

    lifeline-wall-rack

I have two in the shed, but you could fit it indoors somewhere out of the way.

Am I the only one that fougth the brave fight but ended up losing?
My bike is in the shed :-(
Reading this thread only reminds me of the good ol' days of it being in the hall!
It took a over a year's worth of nagging before my spirit was broken.

How about you do the shopping, ya lazy git:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,853 ✭✭✭✭tomasrojo

Yes, get a trailer and do all the shopping. That way the bike has to be in the hall so that you can speed off at a moment's notice to do errands.

"Maybe I should put you in the shed because that's where we normally keep all the hoes"

    Boom! Take that wifey!

Ah I think I'll lose the battle in the end. It's a war of attrition and eventually the lack of hot sauce (tm) will wear me down.

Put it in the shed. Don't use it. Get fat. See how she likes the new you.

Or trade her in for someone more sympathetic.

Thats my argument also, This thread has got me thinking.....I must start working on getting the two boys into one room! so we can have a dedicated "Bike room" ......Class!
It Might work! the older fella will be up for it, Just to decide which room the bikes get....Big or small :D

Get back to work ya silly gits. This is a real concern to a man, not a Silly-Friday thread. Three pages since 11 am is fairly imprerssive though.

.... because the shed is full with the lawnmower, garden furniture, tents, barbecue, tools ..... in fact all of the stuff that I won't let anywhere near my lovely big garage!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5 Sarbacane

Find something of hers that's "in the way" and that you can start falling over, then make it a quid pro quo situation.

Or agree to put it in the shed if she'll pay to replace it when it gets nicked.

Or tell her that being a slim cyclist you can get past the bike no bother (and then prepare to move yourself and a sleeping bag to the shed).

    :D

Take pen. Write "The Shed" on piece of paper. Stick paper on hall wall.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,408 ✭✭✭studiorat

'cause then we'd have to put the shed in the sitting room as well.

My main bike stays in the front room on the bikerack out of harms way. Getting the other two out of the garage and into the room might be pushing it!
