Food allergy tests and GPs

Hi. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, I can't find any similar threads anywhere!

I'm just wondering if anyone knows if you can get allergy tests in GPs.
I ate quite a lot nut products last week and had weird side effects (itchy, rash on face, diarrhoea etc) and really want to find out if I'm allergic.
If GPs don't offer this service, does anyone know where I can get an allergy test? I'm not sure if I trust those health store food intolerance tests....

    Thanks!

Talking to a Kinesiologist would be your best bet:

I'm not sure if they do but they'll definitely be able to point you in the right direction.

I think they do a skin patch test or something.

Your GP or the Practice Nurse can take blood and the Bons Secours have allergy testing units - we have to do it for work and it costs about €100 - they can do different panels, mostly food, or moulds or airbourne stuff. There is loads they will test for.

I recieved treatment for allergies from a homeopathic practice and it worked wonders for me. However when I mentioned it to my GP some months later he called it "Hocus Pocus"! So if you're going the homeopathic route don't waste your breath talking to your GP
