Want to become a personal trainer, looking into a few courses,(part-time would suit best as im work 9-5 at present) undecided as to which one is the best to do. Has anybody got experience in this field, which course is the best to do in the Dublin area? Thanks.

What are the courses you have in mind? Who runs them? What will you get out of them at the end and how do they compare to each other?
Where or with who will you use your qualifications?

I'm in the same boat, looking for a 1 year part time course that will enable me to become a personal trainer. I would like to be qualified for delivering to classes aswell.

Everything from diet to all the different types of exercises is what i'm interested in. And before I forget, a competitive price. Kildare or Dublin, don't mind.
Anyone know of such a course?? Help would be much appreciated...

    Hi all,

I left a link for a recognised institute for personal training qualifications in Ireland. Not the cheapest!

    Check it out

I dont think you will find one cert/qualification which will allow you to become a personal trainer as well as allow you to teach classes.

However you can get the required certs for the various classes at different weekend seminars.

I would be interested in undertaking this course but work full time in another sector. Are their many jobs Part Time for PTs in gym etc in Ireland i.e would it be worthwhile undertaking this course in the hope of getting a part-time job out of it?
