Any ones that would be cheaper?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,779 ✭✭✭dmcg90

You'd get bluetooth style ones cheaper (like the headsets that fit on your ears) but not cans like these, these are a serious bargain if you look at the Turtle Beach range (which aren't wireless) which go for €60 in Game.

How much is shipping to Ireland?

IMO wireless headsets are WAY more troublesome than wired. Turtle Beach are great headphones and not too dear. There was a general recall on the PX21's but that was a few months ago so should be fine again

Tony, will you review them once they arrive?
They look the biz, but I'd be happier reading a first hand experience review before purchasing.
    Thanks.

    Sound, pardon the pun.

Bit of info regarding blutooth and PS3

Audio cannot be transferred over bluetooth on the PS3. Voice etc can but not main sound. The offical ones come with a usb yokey that fixes the issue. Normal bluetooth headphones don't work. I bought a pair and had to return them after checking online.

    Quote from following website:

    http://community.us.playstation.com/thread/2344930?start=0&tstart=0

Not Compatible with Bluetooth Stereo Headphones:
The Bluetooth audio signal for PS3 only carries voice chat. The game sounds and music are played through your TV or stereo receiver only.

If you want to listen to the gameplay with headphones then they will have to be compatible with your TV or stereo receiver.

The official one works and so does others that have external units. Official one looks deadly imo.

    Just to update

Got these today, still have to play around with them but they look pretty darn good, really built well. Love how easy its to get to the buttons on the headset like the on and off switch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,608 ✭✭✭Victor_M

Lilkewise, I got mine today in the States, sound is very good, solid build quality, light but sturdy. A bit light on the Bass, but I haven't broken them in, nor have I adjusted any of the audio settings so this may change.

And the Bonus! The USB dongle works perfectly on a PC or Laptop! result major added bonus for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,943 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

Just a video of mine showing the headset. Its a pretty cool looking headset imo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,466 ✭✭✭Snakeblood

I just got a pair of PX3s, the wireless jobbies from Turtle Beach. They seem pretty good so far, and have different settings to change the audio. Like it amplifies midfrequencies etc. to make voices stand out in the audio more than explosions, etc, which is a problem I have on explosion heavy games.

Also, they can be used with a 360 if you have one of those too. The only thing that worries me about them is that I had a pair of PX21s earlier, which snapped on one side, so the build quality might not be universally great. Although I did love the PX21s as long as they lasted.

Got the wireless sony headset today, and tested them on resistance 3 and black ops. The surround sound is amazing and the vocal audio from others is like there in the same room as you. Unlike my other headsets, an Orb and the turtle beach px21, theres no hissing when turned on.
The sound is crystal clear, playing blacks ops you can hear the wind blowing when everything goes quiet. They look very stylish and are very light which make them very comfortable to wear. They connect automatically to the PS3 when turned on, switching between the tv sound and headset is effortless.

Bought them from axelplanet for €75 and IMO are much better than the orb and px21

    Thanks for the feedback lads.

Thinking about these. My main problem is I have a 2.1 Blu Ray system that I play my BRs on and I can't find a pair of earphones that will work on it due to limited outputs.

Really would hate to have to buy two pairs.

Bought the wireless PS official headphones yesterday and gave the a go this morning. Picked them up over here for $74 and have to say they are very good. Will give them a proper test once I'm finished work this week.

Cheers F1ngers, yeah currently in the states and returning to Ireland next month. Got them in Bestbuy over here.

Buying from Axelmusic might be better since they pay the customs charges.

Chance of a nasty surprise if you buy from Videogames.ca?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭Fenix

Just got my Sony headset from ebay for £75 delivered (I live in Derry). Have only used them for a few hours but i'm so far very impressed. Sound is superb and voice seems excellent as well!

Will post more after a proper test!
