Well ladies, I was thinking about this yesterday when myself and my boyfriend were listening to this for the millionth time!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqZmJ7RGAP4

My boyfriend decided long ago that this would be our wedding song as we are both huge fans of the Ramones and also, on our first weekend together the first DVD we watched was a Ramones documentary.

Have this song as my ringtone when he rings me.

So what is the one song that sets you off on a wistful stare into space thinking about your special someone?

The only boyfriend I had a "song" with was my ex. We're both huge fans of Robbie Williams(he thinks he looks like him-eh, no!) and our first snog was in a disco to Angels. He wanted it to be our wedding song. Soppy, I know. Its still one of my favourite songs, but I can't say that I stare into the distance wistfully thinking of him-he broke my heart. Infact the last time we were together when the song was playing was at Robbies last concert here, we had broken up a few weeks previously and were trying to be friends and be adult about it, so when Robbie started to sing it, I got a bit upset(understandable, I would think) My ex was blank. Didn't even acknowledge the fact that it was playiing. Pathetic.

When I hear it now, its my song. It reminds me that I was strong enough to dump him, strong enough to be the better person and strong enough to get over all his crap. Much better suited to that too, I would think. Given the lyrics, its hardly a love song. :D

Me and my boyfriend have a song! Here it is. There's a story behind it, but its private :) Thinking of it now, I would love this to be our wedding song :pac: I'd do anything for a laugh.

Better Together by Jack Johnson :) We listened to his album a lot when we first met, and when we were both in denial about how much we liked each other I came into the kitchen one Sunday morning, he was making breakfast and turned around and gave me this big hug and goofy grin, that song was playing in the background and the lyrics made it the soppiest most "movie" moment ever! If I had seen it on tv I would have made pukey noises! Have earmarked it for wedding if he ever decides to put up with me that long :p

I've a few in keeping with the *ahem* years under my belt. :D

An 80's track but with someone 20 years after it was recorded.

And when I was in love in the 80's this was "our" breakup song

Actually the lad nailed it as far as the emotions of breakup go. For blokes/me anyway. Well he was going through a breakup at the time himself so...

Hmmm I see a pattern here... In many of my relationships "our" song was from 20 years previously. WTF. :D

So the next one should be something from the early 90's :)

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Snap! That was my song with my last girlfriend. Was cool because it wasnt a conscious thing to have a song if you know what I mean. Moreso that it ended up being the song that reminded us of each other and good times.

    Cant listen to it now!

It's a bit silly, really cute and unexpected. I'm a massive gamer, and I've gotten herself into it a bit too. :D

Please ignore the extremely cheesy video, it was the only one I could find without pictures of babies for some reason! It's a very sweet song, and we love it.

My first boyfriend. He bought me the Blink 182 album that this song is on for my birthday. For Christmas, he bought me the same album, but with hidden tracks. We went to see Blink 182 together as well. I remember we used to listen to this song a lot, just hanging out in his house.

With my second boyfriend, it was this song. Kind of. I dunno. It sounds so clichéd but we went through some rough things together and the lyrics were always just kinda relevant - "And we're keeping it, Keep it all going, This delicate balance, Vulnerable all knowing... We're glad for what we've got, Done with what we've lost, our whole lives laid out, Right in front of us..."

Another of ours - "I'm gonna stay eighteen forever, So we can stay like this forever... Just jealous 'cause we're young and in love..."

My best friend and I had a few special songs over the years. We played guitar together in high school, get hooked on a song for awhile and call it 'our song' until another came along that sounded more like us. *wonderful memories*

He sang this to me when he proposed.

Growing up, I never understood why he liked country music. ...I've grown to appreciate it now.

This is definitely a tough one to write because I still love my ex very much. The title of this song was something he used to say to me before we ended our conversations online and he called me 'his goodnight girl,' cos we were always chatting for hours sometimes well into the morning. So the name kinda stuck. This always reminds me of the early days of our relationship

Then as our relationship progressed this song I gave him the link too and he loved it and it is was how I wanted us to be, forever.

Then we both agreed this was one of our songs, (this is really hard for me to listen to, so many reminders of happy times being together )

When he broke from me I was devastated. This song I played a lot, it was how I felt about him. Even though we are still good friends today, it has been a hard tough path to walk and not to be together.

The whole album really, but this is one of my favourites. Just reminds me of lazy Sunday mornings in bed :)

Novella, I love that Straylight Run song, just gorgeous!

I always think of my OH when I hear this, it's a really sweet uplifting song and it's on our roadtrip playlist :)

This one reminds me of our early days

There was so much from around that time that we listened to consantly, White Ladder by David Gray, Jeff Buckley, Eliot Smith, Ben Folds Five. Ha, such typical students. Please Forgive Me came on the radio the last day and I automatically turned it up (considering I nearly dumped the CD I was so sick of it I was a little surprised).

The song we had played at our wedding was this:

oh and this as an instrumental at the ceremony:

I really like this thread, it's really sweet. I have a couple of songs that remind me of my boyfriend...

Zzyzx Rd - Stone Sour: It's his ringtone and it's his favourite song so anytime I hear it I think of him. Well same with anything by Stone Sour because they're his favourite band.

Hesitate - Stone Sour: One day I was texting him and told him I was looking up music on YouTube so he said it to me to check out this song because he liked it. Now I get choked up when I hear it because at the time I got a bit worried he didn't want me anymore because of the lyrics.

In Loving Memory - Alter Bridge: His gran passed away about 5 months ago and he was really close to her. This song just reminds me of something he said the day after she died when we were chatting. It really hurt me to think of him being so upset. :(

Before me and the OH got together we were friends, mad about each other, but circumstances meant we couldn't get together straight away. So we were best buds, and he gave me the new Snow Patrol Final Straw album. Run has been our song since then, and even leona lewis' awful caterwallin' couldn't change that. Turns out it was the final straw, we've been together 7 years since:)

"You've been the only thing that's right, in all I've done."

i suppose for me and my OH two songs come to mind.... jamaroquoi - tallaulah and take that's - rule the world.

jamaroquoi's song cause when he copied all the albums for me this song wouldn't play right and it took him a good half hour to fix it for me on my ipod and we had to listen to it a few times to make sure it played ok.

take that's song cause he came up to where i lived in college ( we were doing long distance for a few years) and he played this song for me and i had never heard it. he had downloaded it for me and surprised me with it as soon as he came in the door:p hoping have that as our first dance song when we get married.

Jackson by Johnny Cash and Ruth Carter always reminds me of the hubby. we got married in the USA after knowing each other 6 mths. we were (still are) madly in love and used to sing this song at parties after we got married. The opening line, 'we got married in a fever', perfectly sums us up. we were crazy and young and USA was so hot!

Our song is Just Breathe by Pearl Jam. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuq7RYQ8Wa0 Never heard them before I started going out with him, and one night we were lying in bed and I was slightly grumpy and fed up and he starts playing this on his laptop, and when I turned around he's staring at me with so much love in his eyes I couldn't help cuddling right up against him! :) We play it now whenever either of us is feeling a bit down, always makes me smile.

First Day of My Life by Bright Eyes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwFS69nA-1w also sends me into a daydream of good times, and causes a stupid smile to form on my face, but that's just a gorgeous song anyway, love the video.

Whole Lotta Love:Zeppelin. Always makes me think of him and the good times! :)
StarStar by the Frames is another one.

    Hopefully many more to come!

The Birdy Song. My first dance with a girl, Claire Whelan who lived next door to me, at that most romantic of venues: the circus. If I'd any sense, I'd have married her, but I was only 10.

All of these remind me of my husband:

Shania Twain - You're still the one it we out when we first started dating but also we had to overcome so many obstacles that would have stopped other people.

Crowded House - Weather with you
I always associated this with May which is the month that he is born in - it is also one of my favourite songs.

Bruce Springsteen -Secret Garden this version includes clips from the movie Gerry Maguire of which it was on the soundtrack, it was on the radio one day I was going over to visit him in hospital and I heard it on the radio and burst out crying, it has reminded me of him ever since.

Aaron Neville and Linda Rondstadt - I don't know much just because...it was only when I met him that I felt this song.

Savage Garden - I knew I loved you I love the lyrics and they remind me of him.

Kind of had an unspoken agreement with my ex that this was our song. Super cheesy, and way older than either of us (the song's from 1969, he's from 1973 and I'm from 1982). I think we have Homer Simpson to thank for it :D
Still makes me laugh & remember good times with him when I hear it.

I only ever had a "song" with my first proper boyfriend when I was 16. He introduced me to the band Nightwish which I absolutely adore now. This song was a huge favourite of both of ours, and somewhere along the way it got adopted as "our song". Whenever it comes on my mp3 player these days I'm instantly taken back. It's quite suitable as background music for when nostalgia strikes (not that I'd ever wish to get back with him, but sometimes it's nice to remember when life was sweet :pac:)
