    Hi all

Just at the end of my tether now with food, weight and the hammster wheel I can't get off. Joined weight watchers in January and got off to a slow start but got going in the end and lost 23 pounds :) by end of april Then started missing meetings and on those weeks I was counting points for a few days and binge eating for the rest of week. This has been the cycle for past few months.

I was so close to goal yet now I am 9 pounds up. Has anyone else experienced this. I am still going to gym but just can't gain control on eating. I gave up smoking over a year and half ago and am delighted to be free. Life you be so much better if I wasn't consumed on a daily basis with food. Any advice........ Help!

It's not about the points or the scales, it's about your attitude to food. You need to forget about food as a mechanism for weight control and try to get back to the old fashioned thing of eating as the solution to hunger.

Stock up on good quality, non-processed foods, but don't make a big deal of points/fat/calories etc. Learn to eat when you are hungry, and to eat slowly, savouring the food (think French, sit down at the table, eat with a knife and fork, drink some wine if you like, talk to your family, take your time, enjoy it). And don't eat if you are not hungry.

Food is a pleasure, but it's not a reward for not maxing out your credit card, or compensation for a ****ty boss.
