    Hi All,

I'm looking for some general advice and guidance please. I'm not new to physical training, but after leaving the Army 5 years ago, i really let myself go and found it hard to keep up the training. I'm now at a point where i can't stand it anymore, and the weight is killing me. (not literally) I have just started doing the things that i used to love, again, mainly rowing and cycling. I'm not really into the weights, or trying to get "massive", i just want to shed the weight and look some way respectable. Any guidance on nutrition would be fantastic, as would any on a suitable routine for working out.

Thanks in advance for any and all comments,

    Matt.

    Hi,

There is so much information out there for you it will blind you! The best thing i can do for you is give you this link www.bodyforlife.com

In this site check out the testemonials and gallery, there are people from mid 20's to mid 60's here that followed a meal program with a shopping list and a program for cardio and weights. Within 12 weeks they were all close to being cover models. This is not a hoax site as I and many of my friends tried it and were amazed to put it mildly. 3 days cardio for 20mins, 3 days weights for 30-40mins. 1 cheat day!!

Check it out... Ideal short sessions that are aimed at toning and muscle building..

Start with your diet buddy. Get that right. Buy yourself a heart rate monitor. When cycling or rowing make sure you keep your heart rate in a fat burning or cardio zone. this way you can tell how easy or hard you are working your body.
Train 3 times per week but make sure your intensity is high or its not worth doing.
