    This is it!!

So Ladies game. Its time to confuse the lads again. Everyone knows it makes their brains work wonders of what were talking about. The idea is to choose the month and day you where born.
Pass this on to girls only and lets see how far it reaches round, the last one went round all over london.
So you write Im ....... Weeks and im craving ........ !!! In your status.
    Good luck ladies.

I'm so glad that I have such a small, sane, circle of female of friends so I never have to be subject to this crap. God!

It means you have a lot of giggly 13 year old girls friended on facebook for some reason.

I will never understand why such harmless nonsense is so often met with such hostility. It's not rude or nasty, it's not done out of meanness. It seems to me to be harmless fun. How hard is it to hide a post if it bothers you that much?

And no, before anyone starts, I do not participate in these things, and that is not why I'm posting this. I just do not get it.

I think it's because it started off with time stupid bra colour statuses that were meant to be for cancer awareness... And have since then good beyond nonsense.

Hah I wish I could say they were 13 year old friends, But afraid not, I just presumed everyone was pregnant

    4 inches

Yeah, can someone explain this one too? Someone on my feed posted '4 inches, 20 minutes' and I have no idea why. Obviously I didn't get the 'secret message' this time since I didn't bother posting my bra colour or any of the other 'hee hee let's confuse the boys' statuses

No it wasn't! It was shoe size followed by inches and age (I think) followed by minutes.

<shoe size> inches, <length of time it takes to do your hair>

I'm with gargleblaster. What is the harm in it?

Don't have a clue what the new 'status prank' was.. it's only harmless fun but it can get frustrating. If it gets too annoying just hide the people that constantly post them.

Sim Social seems to be the new game everyone's playing. Getting tons of invites to it.

Men don't guess because we mostly don't care.

I imagine people get a nice sense of sisterhood from sharing a secret, even when the secret is mundane in the extreme.

To be honest, i've never seen this thing in action from either males or females on my Facebook.

I have clearly chosen my friends well. :D

that Marilyn Monroe "love me at my worst" quote is getting on my tits as well, seen it on three peoples news feeds over the past few days.

I get it from a friends sister all the time and never pass it on. Even if i did pass it on i know none of my friends would do it and i'd be slagged to bits :)

I dont do all those stupid copy and paste thingys either. Same girl posts them all the time too. She's 38 cant use being a teenager as an excuse for that shíte. :(

 I've never heard of any of those pranks...

But my friends are always posting things they want me to pass on, though I never do. Not that there's any harm in it, but I agree it can be annoying if someone posts way too many of those.

They bug me because they assume men are stupid. They also assume women think it's hilarious to (try) confuse and bewilder men while being innocent. It's like being back in the 1950's.

It's like those emails you get from complete randomers that still somehow have your email address "If you have a mother you love, pass this on!" or even worse "Pass this back to me so I know you are a true friend!" No, I haven't spoken to you since we had a lecture together 5 years ago, you are not a true friend, and even if you were I wouldn't bother you with this rubbish.:mad::mad:

I will admit, I judge the people who send them to me. I do.

I also find it hilarious since usually they make no sense from someone who's a lesbian!!!

Hah, funny you should mention this.
I had a similar discussion with my mother the other day about these "pranks" and she thinks it's just as stupid as I do, but doesn't see the harm in it.
Meanwhile her partner was actually posting it as her status and does all the time.
But then she also posts all those silly "know someone whos grandmothers gerbil had syphilis" or whatever status things all the time.

Ontopic though, they're pretty harmless. More a silly form of amusement, and let's face it, thats what FB is for.

That is such a weird, twisted game.
    Who does that??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,130 ✭✭✭Azureus

Havent seen that game but if my friends were posting stuff like that, itd be a quick phone call to give out to em saying ''why didnt you tell me you were pregnant!!!!''

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,096 ✭✭✭LadyMayBelle

I have gotten a few of those recently and it's the same old sh*te.. and what I hate the most is the ones that say they are 'promoting breast cancer awareness week/month/year'... the annoying one I got recently said that and then you had to say where you left you handbag...on the stairs/on the bed/on the couch, on the countertop..you get the gist.

Just wish these games would stop pretending to promote breast cancer awareness to get attention. For me it's DELETE, and thankfully most of my friends aren't lame enough to forward them on/

To me they are the same thing as chain mails that would of been sent around by e-mail with the intention to drive an increase in worthless traffic and cause service issues. Not much of problem for an end user these days considering we've got broadband as opposed to dial up back then, but still annoying.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 892 ✭✭✭mariebeth

I didn't know what it was about, but a girl I know put up her status - 18 wks & craving marshmallows. It gave me a good giggle seeing just how many people actually thought she would announce her pregnancy on facebook! Even after me and a relative of hers made comments saying how we'd have known weeks ago if she was pregnant...just goes to show people don't read the comments before them.

She had to take it down after people started asking her mother & sister about her being pregnant!

I'm going to close this thread, since the OP's question has been answered and it's not really a tLL topic.
