    Trailers

The original gang is all back and more of the same antics from them. It
should be good and worth a watch with all the cast being back and looks like
Jim's dad and Stifler's mom hook up

Actually have hope for this. The AP trilogy was able to thread that fine line between ridiculous gross-out comedy and also having a bit of heart, which is why I liked it. It'll interesting to see them all again 10 years on.

Oh and I wonder what Stiffler will have to swallow this time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

It's one of my bro's guilty pleasures (and mine too by this stage) so i've seen all SEVEN of them with him (including the straight to DVD films  and that one called "Hole in One" which had one of the spinoff stifflers but couldn't afford the licence :P) so i'm looking forward to this. Great to see the original cast back and not just a Eugene Levy cameo and a 2nd cousin of Stiffler we never knew about :p

So the original cast are crawling back in search of a cash cow

Only liked the first one (and not much either) and this will probably be ****e

will be nice to finally see a proper sequel after years of those awful "American Pie Presents" movies

Is this getting a theatrical release or straight to DVD?

Never been a fan of the series really, I always found them amusing for the first half but they were always too hung up on "everyone learning their important life lesson" for the latter half of the films, which used to just get in the way of the laughs imho.

Road Trip was a far superior comedy to any of the American Pies.

Defo a release considering all the cast are back I say it will do mega bucks at the box office

I despised eurotrip! That bit was funny though.

looks half decent. whether or not it'll be any good is another thing.

only 3 theatrical films mate ;)
american pie, 2 and wedding. the fourth is dvd-territory (Band Camp)

It's probably something of a spoiler but wiki'ing the cast list, looks great! Everyone who matters will be there :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,385 ✭✭✭✭D'Agger

The only spin off not to include the original cast was the one where Stifflers brother goes to band camp and the only thing I liked about it was Arielle Kebbel

Not going to lie though I'll probably watch this just to see what they'll do with the original cast.

I thought the first was amazing when I saw it - I was about 12 and it was pretty much the funniest thing I had ever seen at that age. The second was pretty good and the third was very good too.

I saw 5 minutes of one of the others and didn't feel I was missing out by not seeing the rest. Can't believe there's 7 in total! Or 8 if you can't add.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,077 ✭✭✭✭bnt

It's getting a theatrical release in the USA. Looks like everyone's there. This 2nd trailer seems to have half the movie in it:

One thing that annoyed me about the movies was that song, Laid, originally by James (from 1:35 in this trailer). Why did they have to use a cover version that sounds like the original, but not as good?

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

I can shamelessly say I am excited to see this, I loved the American Pie trilogy as a teenager, and cannot wait to see this, the original line up being back has got to give some hope that it will at least be a lot better then the tripe that has been out under the series name since!

Stifler you ****ing legend dont let me down!!!!

Honestly, I know its cool to hate American Pie theses days, but the first one was excellent, changed the way a genre of film was made for a long time. The second was great and I loved the 3rd for the dance off scene if nothing else.

At the heart of the films is an actual heart also, there was some very stupid humour, some very very stupid humour but there was some genius moments in there too and as I said, heart, I was genuinely pulling for Jim all the way. Stifler became a legend to many, if only for being able to say and do all the things you sometimes wish you could do yourself as a young adult and the rest of the cast played their parts well.

Love American Pie, cant wait for this.

that trailer actually didn't look terrible although that might just be the nostalgia talking

jim's dad looks like he'll be quality as always

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,925 ✭✭✭Otis Driftwood

This is a movie I can categorically say I will never watch.

The first was a decent enough, albeit predictable piece of throwaway crap.2 was more of the same just with alot less laughs,3 was a pile of pish, havnt seen any of the other sequels.

The time for these movies has passed imo.Films like Super Bad took the whole "gross out" thing to another level (I hate Super Bad btw, thought it was rubbish) so it will only be an imitation me thinks.Kinda the way the guys in Jackass tried to be more extreme on the back of Dirty Sanchez.

Kinda looking forward to it. Trailer looked decent and seems to be back to what made the series enjoyable. Didn't see from The Wedding onwards, but even the trailers put me off the later ones.

    🤪

Yeah, Eugene Levy is excellent, his comedy timing is brilliant and himself and the guy who plays Jim really work well together, some of their scenes in the previous films were so funny!

Can't wait to see it. The wedding one was my favourite from the trilogy. Hopefully Stifler is still as legendary as ever!

I find these films call the progress of my life into question. By 22 I should have been married and I should be having kids in the next 3-4 years. I mean American Pie 1: They're 17/18 right? American Pie 2: College, ok fine, I can go with that. American Pie 3, graduating from college and getting married?! wtf?! Straight out of college??? And then by American Pie Reunion, they're all living 40-ish lifestyles even though they're in their late 20s/early 30s? Its only been 12 years since American Pie 1, the progress has been too fast.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Em, in American Pie 3 only one of them is getting married.

The others are actually surprised he is doing it so young

Saw it tonight and it didn't disappoint. If you loved the first three like me you'll thoroughly enjoy this.

It's basically a more grown up version of the originals but the basis behind the jokes is pretty much the same. Found myself getting all nostalgic and shit.

Laughed throughout and thought it was great, I doubt everyone will agree but meh, whatever.

EDIT: Oh and Katrina Bowden

Agreed. Saw it myself and found it a good old romp. If you liked the first two, you'll like this. If not then you probably won't. But it's definitely back to its best.

Sure it might not be the smartest or even the funniest movie series ever made but ill be checking this out even if its just for nostalgia of the original series

Like the third film, this one will be renamed for international release, its going to be American Reunion in the States and American Pie: Reunion over here. I think they're flogging a dead horse at this stage...

I noticed the different names thing. As a matter of interest, why do they do that? I would of thought it would be better to have the same name throughout, would make it more recognizable for Americans in Europe and vice versa?

    What?
It's been 13 years. So they should all be 31 or so.
1 is married with a kid, one is just married, one has a girlfriend, 2 are single.
    Whats so unrealistic about that.

    This.
Seen it last night. Enjoyed it. Same style of comedy as the originals three (or 4 if according to that poster who invented his own). And good for nostaliga laughs.
