Anyone else notice that spin on the met rainfall radar? Looks like a tropical earthquake is about to blow over us.

Can anyone post a link for that icelandic lightning radar again please, I looked for it under the useful links thread but couldn't find it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,548 ✭✭✭Harps

The old link doesnt seem to be working any more, I was looking for it earlier when Irish mentioned thunder but kept getting a 404 error

Found the new link, quite a few strikes in south Donegal, nothing here as usual. And is it just me or do Holland and Belgium get massive thunderstorms on an almost daily basis?

Thanks Harps, yes lots of strikes here indeed.

Isn't it amazing how fast autumn comes in? Its overcast ready to rain and I'd nearly need to put the light on in here. Its also a bit nippy.

Does anyone here know the story on a new station being reported on the met.ie "daily weather" page, namely 1775 ... where is it and why the number instead of a name?

Oh, my local weather, sunny and very warm, we're looking at about two weeks of this, yesterday was 27 C and today which is Labour Day here is heading in that direction also, 22 C at 10:00 local time.

It's a second station on the same site as Johnstown Castle MTC. The use of 1775 instead of the station name is just a mistake which has been reported to the climatological division of Met Eireann
