    Hi lads,

I got a Power Balance band around December last year. I had a concern over my left elbow area, don't think it was golfers elbow but my elbow area didn't feel right, felt "weak". I wear the Power Balance every day and in reality don't feel any different. My elbow is prob a bit better now but maybe not due to anything the PB did. Just wondering if anyone has used anything else that is any good (magnetic, ion, etc). My concern is my elbow area feels weak, I have no pain but I notice it every time I play, but it isn't affecting my game so far.

    Physiotherapy?

The magnets/ions/bracelets etc are complete unadulterated codswallop. Shame to see top pros advertising them but I guess they're as prone to believing nonsense as anyone else.

Went for Physio last night as had a weak feeling in my right hand and down along my arm when playing, he relieved pressure as he said there was something up with my rotary joint, well worth the money to go see one anyway.

Have you been to see a doctor?

Oh and don't waste any more money on magnets, crystals or resonant chips.

I have a power balance bracelet, I can categorically say all the talk surrounding it is utter bull .. Saw one for sale in a pro shop for 35e and I nearly pissed myself laughing..

They are complete nonesense and without any scientific basis. Some countries have banned their promotion due to false advertising. Amazing how far a mainstream scam can go.

I hate these new-age fandangles - what's wrong with a little prayer to St. Jude?*

    * While god may have neglected to intervene when Hitler was gassing the jews, he moves in mysterious ways and may decide that a pushed 7 iron approach is worth bothering with.

yah, i hears ya. but as unlikely as it sounds its a billion times more likely than wearing one on your wrist will help your elbow.

the "hologram" , as its called, wears off after about 3 months of continuous wear - from the back thru to the front due to friction with your skin. So even, if by some miracle, it did work you'd be down 35€ every 3 months!

    Ka-ching!

believe me, being a sufferer of back pain, i've tried everybloodything to find relief... even, shame of shames, power balance.

Spend your €35 on a fillet steak instead and sit back afterwards with a bottle of red and feel fcuking great!

On the power balance bracelets. I think it was proven scientifically that it is all crap.

    Dear Woodgate,
I am sorry to hear about your experience with the Powerbalance bracelet. There has been a lot of negative publicity around these products - if you type "power balance scam" into Google you can read up on this, including the statement from Powerbalance in Australia.

There are excellent competitive products in the market place - the one I would recommend is Trion:Z. Trion:Z is a DUAL therapy bracelet - combining the power of magnets with negative ions and is endorsed by thousands of people world-wide.

People have been using magnets for thousands of years - since the Egyptians in the farao period. Magnets are believed to improve the blood flow to help deliver the oxygen and nutrients to the muscles, and eliminatetoxins, providing a better healing environment for the body. It is a common complementary therapy used world-wide, and magnets are now prescribed by the medical profession in over 50 countries.Studies in Japan show that a minimum 500 gauss magnet is required to have any positive effect, and the Trion:Z range carry two 1,000 gauss magnets.

The negative ions in Trion:Z products are released in measurable and significant amounts at rates 50 to 100 times higher than its competitors - 624 per second versus 21 per second.

The Trion:Z range is FDA approved in Japan, approved as a Medical Device by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour & Welfare and holds a European CE Mark.

Should you require any information on these, please let me know or visit www.trionz.ie

    Hi
combining the power of magnets with negative ions

I am interested in your product but would also like a bracelet that combines the power of angels with the power of magnets and negative ions. Would you have a suitable product for me?

    Same rubbish, different name.
Trion:Z is a DUAL therapy bracelet - combining the power of magnets with negative ions

Wow, that sounds awesome. How are these powers combined?
and is endorsed by thousands of people world-wide

So what? So is astrology, alien-abduction therapy and crystals.
People have been using magnets for thousands of years - since the Egyptians in the farao period.

Eh, that's because they didn't know any better.
Magnets are believed to improve the blood flow to help deliver the oxygen and nutrients to the muscles, and eliminatetoxins, providing a better healing environment for the body.

Waffle of the highest order. It's about evidence rather than belief. There is no evidence for the outrageous claims made on behalf of this jewellery.

I suggest the OP would be better off reading this or this.

After months of doing research I decided to buy Trion Z wristband had nothing to lose only cost 20euro. But I based my research on Japanese findings. As we all know Japan is light yrs ahead of the world when its comes to science, technology and medicine. So after reading as much info as I could on IONS it came as no surprise to see Japan has been teaching about IONS for years. Im not active in any sports but I only bought this cos of stiff back muscles and the wristband increases bloodflow around the body to relieve slight aches. I have had this for a 10 days and I ve definetly noticed Im less tired and more alert there is no doubt about it,so in a few wks il give my honest opinion regarding my back aches. As for improving sports-performances Im not too sure, I cant remember if greats like Pele, Maradona, Lionel Messi, Mohammad Ali,Colm Cooper, Christy Ring, Sonya O Sullivan or even Steven Roche wore ION wristbands when they were at the peaks of their sporting careers. But look Im not an active in any sport so I wouldnt really know but what I do believe is that the era of technology where phones, tvs, computers and microwaves has reshaped the balance of ions in our bodies. Like I said earlier I have had this for 10days and Ive noticed I feel more alert and not as tired as I was but it hasnt done anything for my stiff back muscles so I will give an honest opinION in a few more weeks.

You are walking meat. That magnet doesn't work on you, or a pig,or a dog or a tree. It's unrelated matter, it is quite literally the sports worlds snake oil.

You should be ashamed of yourself to try and promote this kind of thing, you probably get old people involved in pyramid schemes and sell bridges to nowhere.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20 ANTWON

Yes it does work to a certain extent, read it again I clearly stated' I felt more alert and not as tired as I was before I was wearing it'. This is due to Negative Ions increasing the blood flow around the body.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 749 ✭✭✭BlastedGlute

Right now I feel increasingly aggressive and more hostile, perhaps it's my fridge magnet, or maybe your just a gullible moron. Go sell some salt water to cancer patients.

Ions in your body do not get magically aligned/released/repaired/rejuvenated by magnets/holograms/crystals. It's all a con to make easy money from people who want to believe it's true.

i have an older gent friend who suffers from a disfunction which gives him great difficulty in getting his butler to stand to attention. so he went out and bought several trion z bracelets along with several powerbalance bracelets and with great determination he managed to get his butler to agree to wearing all of them at once.

pretty soon, because of the increased blood flow, my friends butler obeyed every command issued by my friend - and in doing so he was the benefactor of much renewed respect from his lovely wife, who quite frankly seems tired now a lot of the time. And i've noticed... is also smoking much more frequently. i know... its a bit strange really.

now, if the above were possible ( due to alleged increases in blood flow ) wouldnt the billion dollar industry that is the "older gents butler obeyer industry" have realized its potential and flooded the market with hundreds of products already?

    This is hilarious
Thank you sir for making my day

I cant remember if Joyce ,Keats,Kavanagh,Shalespeare,Bryson,Voltaire or even Ross O'Carroll Kelly wrote about Ions and magnets when they were at there peak of there writing careers but then I am not active in writing so I wouldnt know.

Maybe I should ask at my local Sushi Bar ,its run by the japanese and they are light years ahead in these matters

Also seeing as you have had some success with Trion ,I have a magic Tiger stone its only 15 Euro and it prevents Tiger attacks
Tigers are one of the most dangerous predators on the planet reaching up to 11feet long and weighing up to 600 pounds ,for only 15 Euro you can protect you and your family from this apex predator

It's like the footjoy shoes that Harrington advertised which claimed you could gain and extra 15 yards* off the tee due to their stabilising properties.

    * If you have the swing/talent of a top pro and practice every day. :D

I was giving my honest opinion on a product I have tested myself and hopefully give people who are interested in trying to find out as much as they can about them. I take it that none of the above users havent even tried this product. So how can you have an argument or opinion on something you havent tried. Your opinions dont matter.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,528 ✭✭✭foxyboxer

I haven't tried that specific product no, but I've tried the copper magnetic bracelet thing in the past. I'm a sucker for things like that. And having experienced absolutely no benefits whatsoever, I'll happily avoid similar products in future.

Saying a few decades of the rosary is equally as effective as a Power Balance bracelet. But then you have to buy some fancy necklace thing..? I think if your going spending money on magic jewelery you might as well get one of these, apparently this one ring has the power to rule them all ..

I for one wasn't knocking you about your opinion. However I kinda know a thing or two about magnetism and ions and I'll still my neck out and say that it's a load of nonsense.

But you see the thing is you haven't "tested" it at all. You merely put it on with knowledge of what to expect and then lo and behold identified certain changes in your subjective experience as caused by the bracelet. This isn't testing old boy, is not even remotely related to the ancestors of relatives of testing. Your opinion on it's effectiveness is actually less valuable than someone who is assessing it's probable effectiveness on the basis that it transgresses basic biological and physical laws, notwithstanding the fact they haven't personally tried it.

On powerbalance, i wear them and find them great, but not for the hologram BS.
I tore a disc in my back last year, and my physio got me into this method of everytime i see the colour blue, I correct my posture, so my wife bought me a blue one. The ritual of posture correction has helped me a lot. I have since bought several of the wristbands, all for about €6-€7 delivered, and everytime I glance at the bracelet, I auto correct.

It does invite a lot of questions about what it is though, and I always start with "Its a load of b****** that I dont believe in".
