Tesco have some serious bargains on computer equipment at the moment. This morning i picked up a Logitech Wireless Desktop MK250 (wireless keyboard and mouse) down from €30 to €1.50. Also got a Trust Graphics tablet for €1.25. Was told there was a 500gb Iomega External Hard drive down to €1.50 aswell but couldnt find any in the stores i checked.

These items were on clearence to get rid of them so not every store will have these, but they may have other stuff. Worth a look though if your in there

I was in Clarehall Tesco this morning and these weren't discounted. Which branch did you get them?

Any more info on this or is it a wind-up?

Nothing in Ballinasloe Tesco either. In fact their PC accessories seemed to have gotten a bit dearer. :(

500gb hard drive reduced to €1.50, seems like a mistake as opposed to a deal.

Considering they generally cost 50/60/70 euro, seems odd that Tesco would be giving them away.

Think this is BS or a once off mistake personally.

Looks like a mistake, sounds like the Tropicana 3 for €2 thread.
    Another mistake by Tesco?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 821 ✭✭✭Quaderno

No, I don't think it's BS (which would be very harsh to say anyway...). I posted last night that I saw a couple of cheap harddrives on sale in my local Tesco (although nowhere near €1.50), so they do seem to have a policy to get rid of certain lines of computer equipment. Maybe the actual rate of reduction is decided by the store manager or something like that, but reductions do definitely exist, at least in some stores.

Ill find the recept for it if people dont beleive it. As i said, its on clearence stuff, so its only stores that still have that stock will have that offer.

Store was ballybeg in Waterford (i work there), i got the last tablet, and the keyboards are gone now aswell, but the price for the keyboards was still up last night.

    Good man Wobbles.
This place is full of doubters. I think most would prefer you just hand them the bargains as well, so they don't have to leave their couches!

Could be the staff discount from heaven ?

I wish. You have to be there a year for staff discount to kick in.

Thanks OP, I'll check on my local tesco if they have something similar.

I'll be in Tesco (Jervis St.) later on. If the Dublin city centre store doesn't have it / had it - I'll be surprised.

1tb drives would cost you 60-70 online. Or, in Easons, a 1tb external Seagate drive is 70€.
